jerks called my pay by the minute phone.. wrong number. of course since they are in the biz of collections they don't believe you.

I got a call from this number also....it was Northland Group, a collection agency for Target Inc.

got a call and they just hung up .. they collect for citgroup accounts...they also say thet thye don't have to abide by the cease letter that were summited to there clients.. so make sure that you send they a sperate letter

Called on my cell phone several times and asked for someone other than me, as if it were a wrong number. At first, I tried to explain about the wrong number, but they wouldn't listen.

Started a couple weeks ago, then quit. Now it's started again.

I just don't answer anymore when this number comes up.

Not sure what this scam is about, but I'm not willing to subject myself to it by playing along.

Talked to Robert Northland Group. They are a collections agency. for Citi card this time. Credit companies are just out sourcing to them. Robert was nice. Wish all collections agents were as nice as him.

Collecting for Citi.  I advised I gave Citi my attorney's phone number. Rep said they were not aware and asked for the info and I gave it to him he thanked me and hung up. Very easy to deal with.

Called on my cell while I was with my bankruptcy attorney. Attorney handled the call and told them he would have their collective butts in federal court if they did not stop. There's an automatic notice sent out to all collection agencies listed to stop calling under penalty. Received no more calls after legal counsel intervened.

If they call you again they can be sued. Third party collection agancies cannot continue to contact you if you give them attorney info.

They call my fax line everyday. I just had this unlisted phone line/fax number put in July of last year (2009) and it is for faxes only. I just started getting these calls in January.  I don't give it out as a phone number; I don't owe anyone any money; so I know it has to be for the person who USE to have the number. I thought of trying to answer it but, if they are like everyone says, they aren't going to take my word for it. I think I will run a copy from the numbers stored in my fax line, print it out, mail it to them with a copy of my phone bill and tell them to stop or my next stop will be to an attorney.

They call everyday,sometimes,2 times and just hangup if I answer.Never leave a message

Northland group IS a legitimate company.  They may collect for Citi group, but they also do assist the dept of education with their student loan collections.  They have my husband has an account with them from his student loans.  If someone is being a jerk, tell them you either want to speak to an supervisor or you will contact an attorney.  You can also request that they mail you any information with what they have you listed in regards to.  If they fail or refuse to, it would likely be that the charge or account they are looking at is not actually yours.

Got a call at 8:50 pm. As it was ringing I was checking on here to see who it was.. I have a coupleof Citi group accounts and am beginning the bankruptcy process so I am not picking up.

They keep calling and asking for someone that I've never heard of about a student loan.  I have had this phone number for 16 years, so obviously someone gave them a fake number.  they told me they would take it out and the calls stopped for a while, but have since started.  :/  And the number they are calling is my business number which forwards to my cel when I am not there and costs money each call.
