Said that they were from united law offices, vcalling saying that I did a payday loan back in 2007 and still owe it back. Did not recognized tje payday loan name. Trying to find out of it is scam

I recieved a call from them. I was a bit leary about it to until i resarched and checked my records, it's a ligitimate law office! I was meet by a process server and they served me a summons.

I got a call from someone in the court summons department of United Law Offices saying that there was a pending case against me, and that I still had an opportunity to contact the "plaintiff"...I too, am not sure if this is legit as there is no other info on this number online, and all other info makes this type of caller seem pretty scummy...but again,not sure.  They called my brother on the same day saying the same thing...telling him that they didn't want me to miss a court date, which I'm not even sure if legal.  I'll continue to research...

Just got the same call yesterday.  My brother did also...  I think its a scam - we have no reason to be sued.  says he's from United - wants to serve my brother with summonds

Got a call as well. Same thing- Automated Payday loan. . . I had no idea what they were talking about, so I called a friend who works in financial crimes, gave him the info. I was also told to file a police report (which I did with the local sheriff''s dept)   He said it is 100% a scam- don't give ANY info to them.

Yeah I called them today and the person I spoke to was rude, would not give any information regarding the full name of the firm, the address, or local phone number.  She also refused to give me any information via mail or provide any documentation regarding the "payday" loan, was verbally abusive, and threatened me with a summons if I did not resolve the matter today.  According to my attorney they did just about everything you can do to indicate its a scam.  To top it off, internet pay day loans are illegal in my state of residence and they have no legal foot to stand on.  I filed a complaint with the state Attorney General's office and filed a police report.

Was the womans name Tammy? They wouldn't give me an address either. They told my wife "we found out you had a bounced check, my wife called her own bank and asked if she had a bounced check. Unted also told us it was from the year 2007 that she had this loan.

ohh forgot to add her old bank told her we have no record of any bounced checks.

Please have them to stop calling my job and house harrasing me.

These people called my parents house and my sisters house and left messages for me saying they hired a locator to find me and they are suing me for a 2007 payday loan. I asked for proof and they refused telling me that they were not required to give me any info. I also told them I know in the state of CA you cannot be charged with fraud for not paying a payday loan AND in CA I know the limit for a payday loan is 300 but they are saying mine was 450. Very very leary of these people.
