received unwanted call from this number who is it?

I just received a letter asking me to call this to receive up to $25K in grant funds. Company is stating G. F. Institute out of Kansas City but Google does not have any info on this company.

Received the same card. Was hoping to find some info on it also. I also could not find info on google.

Me too- got the letter- looked it up in BBB. , Yahoo search ...nothing. Then tried searchbug and led me to another search site. But need to pay $15 to get info. It's with USSearch.com

I also got the letter today (which was already opened by the postman)...

I called them, they are offering a guide for 60$ which explains how to get 25,000. So this is a scam.

My 85 year old mother in law just got one.  Interestingly, she thought it was legit.  Good catch, by the way.  Someone should report them to the FTC.  Do we know who is behind the G.F. Institute?

Did not receive a phone call but received a letter advising me to call as I won a grant for $25,000.oo.  Called the number and got a voice mail reply.  You had to buy a book to validate the offer.  Google supplied me various offers extended to other people.  Great way for someone to make money off of innocent people??????  Another scam!!!!!

Got a post card saying I got a government grant of $25,000, from the same place. I never applied for a grant. I will turn the thing into the post office. They misrepresent themselves, and this is fraud. This sort of thing is a felony. If you got one, I advise you to do the same thing.

just rcvd in the mail to call 866.576.9176 for $25K grant must be some clever scam.

Received a post card dated 11/17/08 notifying me of a pending 25,000 grant.  Never applied for one, obviously a scam.

I got the exact same one as well. One MAJOR flaw:My name is spelled wrong. So scamish.

I received the same letter and if there is no viable information on G.F. Institute in Kansas it is obviously some clever way to obtain money from unsuspecting people, who basically trust that people are trying to be honest and not scam them...

I have a card telling that I won a Grant 25K but I did not call

Yup, got the same post card/letter saying it was for 25000. I did not call. Thought I would check here first.
