- comity guy| 78 repliescalls but leaves no message
- weird callz
- Caller: Meridius Group
- phonesTo add to the previous comments, i just got a call from this number and they did leave a message. It was the Meridius Group, as someone already pointed out. They left a long message about a job opportunity that was 'perfect' for me based on a resume I posted on a job site. But it was clearly a sales pitch that they leave on people's machines all day, and had nothing to do with any interests or experience of mine. It's some kind of insurance sales or other commission-based scheme.

- Michelle replies to comity guy| 47 repliesI received a call from them today and it was just a bunch of bull. They said they wanted to schedule a conference call with their CEO. They sent an e-mail to me and I replied back that I am not interested. It is amazing the types of contacts you get for putting your resume on Monster and Careerbuilder. You have to wonder if it is really worth it. This is nothing but a total scam.
- Pete replies to comity guyDitto that to all expressed. However, they have called several times and never left a message for me. The odd times that I pick up there's no one there and it hangs up (classic dialer routine - if an agent isn't available it will just hang up).
I, too, have been amazed by the "great opportunity" offers that I have recieved that are "perfect based on my background" which only turn into commission only type sales jobs. Clearly, the answer to their percieved success is to throw bodies at the job as I have had absolutely no experience in sales or marketing and my career in finance/accounting certainly wouldn't indicate otherwise. - Celeste replies to comity guy| 18 repliesI can certainly understand the frustration at getting what seems like a telemarketing call, however, I can assure you that this is a legitimate business with a great opportunity. I too was called by a rep from The Meridius Group (NOT http://meridiusinc.com as shown below) through the call center. Although I was very skeptical at first, I was open to the opportunity and after doing my research, have embraced the job. I have been happier than I have ever been in my career working with them. Yes, it IS a commission only position – but this allows a person to work part time if they choose. Yes, we do call candidates from resume pools – but this is because the company is growing quickly and we need reps. I’m real sorry to hear that you all had bad experiences with the call center and acknowledge that there are glitches in the way we work the leads. This is the result of being a relatively young company and if you don’t have patience for such things, this job isn’t for you. If, on the other hand, you feel as I do that growth isn’t perfect but is rife with opportunity, then you will call the number and leave a message for David Yeakley (extension 7620) and he’ll tell you all about the career opportunity.
- Celeste replies to Celeste| 6 repliesA little correction. The proper name of the company is The Meridius Group, LLC.
- initially dubious| 3 repliesI went through the doubt phase with Meridius due to the same aforementioned problems with their call system. In fact, I was so skeptical that I later hung up on an actual human. After having heard my complaint, they called again about a week later & asked for a clean slate & an open mind. That was approx. 5 weeks ago; 6 conference calls later, (3 w/ the CEO) and a bunch of my own homework on the industry -- (LPHI in particular, look them up on NASDAQ) -- I signed up. It's not a free lunch offer, it's a sales force for the one publicly traded participant in the growing arena of the secondary market on life insurance. My recommendation is to stay out & leave more of the pie for me.

- Job Seeker replies to joe userSame as all the others have written above. Called and left a message.
- Susan replies to Michelle| 11 repliesI am curious as to why you think this is a scam. I too got a call. I am trying to perform due diligence now.
- Susan replies to CelesteI would love to hear about your experience Celeste.
What is your background and what is your success rate with this product? - Susan replies to initially dubious| 1 replyI would love to hear about your experience Initially dubious.
- A fellow job seeker replies to SusanI just got another call from them. I have been in the recruitment business for a long time and if they are trying to recruit good candidates this is not the way. At best this is most likely a 100% commission opportunity that does not offer 401k or insurance.......
- DM replies to initially dubioushELLO ID
i read your message and i infer that you have gone a head with meridius. i am carefully considering the opportunity, but because of the vagueness in the contract, reference to the "concept" rather than spelling out what we are expected to do,the vesting formula not thoughtfully presented, no specific mention to life partners, and the need to go to friends and professional associates and convience them to part with a minikmum of 50K, I am concerned that they cross the line from being new to being reckless.
We you please share your experience with me?
thanks
DM - JJIt is natural to be skeptical about opportunities that come to you and you should do your due diligence on any opportunity that you would consider putting your time and effort into. However your research should include talking to people who have decided to join this exciting opportunity (as Celeste said) not just reading speculative posts from people who judge the nature of this legitimate business opportunity on the tactics used to grow a sales force. 100% commission is not for everyone, only those who can rely on their own efforts. If you are ready to take control of your future and build your own business you should hear some facts. If you like basing your prosperity on the whim of your employer then you should stay where you are most comfortable. When opportunity knocks on your door the easiest thing to do is close it, exploring the opportunity takes effort and the entrepreneurial spirit is not in everyone.

- GmanThey also called and left me a vm after updating my Careerbuilder Resume'. My past experience is a closer match sales and startup business experience. A website that informs you a little better is http://necoast.suddenvalues.com/sudden/businesses/display.cfm?recordid=5619
I do believe you can make some money here, but they are trying to do it the "AMWAY WAY" It reminds me of door to door selling of Solar Units or alarm systems. Drag in 50 new reps a week/month and hope they each bring 1-3 new investors. After you go through your current contacts you will probably move on to something else. They don't even have a decent website for marketing. As a Salesperson you need Corporate Marketing support to show validity and attract new prospects if you want to do it long term. And don't forget about the cuurent climate of skeptical investors after losing so much money last year.- Caller: The Meridius Group

- BladeTypical experience in received a call from (866)581-2545 and upon picking up the line, there was nobody on the other end. Aside from finding this site in my due diligence, I found a some interesting items when I searched the name The Meridius Group, LLC. The first was a link to what appeared to be the company's web site. It must be down today as it would not come up and my browser came back with an error message. That link is:
http://www.themeridiusgroup.com/
I also came across a link to a YouTube video about Life Partners Holding Inc., an affiliate company. It was one of those typical infomercial type videos hosted by celebrities so addicted to the green that they might endorse a product offered by Satan himself. This one had Pat Summerall hosting. The link is:

I too recently updated my resume on a few of the career sites. I too wonder just how worth it that is going to be for me. My inbox has been pounded by bogus "career opportunities" and now this phone call as well. If it smells like a dead skunk it most likely is a dead skunk or a dead carcass of some other animal.
Some might believe the service is unsavory. Others may embrace it as a meaningful service that helps those in need. I suppose that all has to do with a person's values.

- BillI have researched this product and company. They seem on the up and up as far as I can tell. I have also had an 11/2 hour conference call. It is definitly 100% commision sales. There have been many comments about it being MLM. I too have been sceptical about MLM and gotten into one. I got 100% out of what I put into it, which was O because that is what I put into it. If you think about it, all sales forces are multi level. I work for a fortune 500 company in sales with a base salary plus bonus/commision. My bonus is based upon by performance but manager's bonus is based on his reps and the AVP's is from all his reps, etc. All companies that award bonus based on sales have multi levels. I have found the approach to be very low key/non pressure. I am sure there ones out there that are not and they trend not to nbe the successful ones. Given what my 401K did last year -33%, I am looking at rolling some it over into this product as well as becoming a repm
