- Caller: Citibank
- Call type: Debt collector
- M| 1 replyCalls from this number claiming they are Citibank and want payment. Funny thing is I had already set up my payment to pull from my account within my due date, so no reason for them to call me. Scammers!
- Caller: Citibank?
- Lisa ConnollyThis number called my place of employment looking for the owners wife. I asked who they were and I could get a message to her and they said it was a personal matter and then hung up on me. They would not identify who they were.
- DCalled my workplace, refused to identify purpose of call, other than "personal business call" which should not come to a work address.
- AHas been calling since 8 am, never leaves a message.
- JanetCalled twice today -- said his name was "Frank" and that it was in reference to a "banking matter" -- I started to tell him not to call this number ever again, and the coward hung up.
- Debra| 2 repliesClaiming to be citibank. Had a call similar to this last week. Do not give them any information. Scammers. Called citibank and verified that it definitely was not them.
- MCLAIMS to be "Citi Cards" via automated machine. Then a pause. Then a voice saying "hello" three times followed by a hang-up. Clearly a way of identifying the viability of a number contacted by machines, but I am not sure of the full purpose. Irritating and ought to be blocked by FCC and telcos (like many scam numbers). (I don't owe money to Citibank, so those in this thread who say that it's trying to claim debt may have debt, but the call is not necessarily connected to that debt).
- Caller: Claims to be CitiCards
- JeanIt is a call that I blocked, so I called it back to see what it was. It was portrayed as Citibank, and asked my last 4 digits of my card, I did not give it, and then they asked for the whole number! There is no reason to call me for debt, I pay it off every month. Apparently someone has called Citibank to confirm, I have not yet, but I will! Can't the phone company trace these scammers? I even get calls with my name as the caller and my phone as the number of the caller! Hard to imagine that the phone company can not block these calls automatically. One could NEVER call their own phone in the past!
- Caller: Said Citibank
- Ellen replies to Debra| 1 replyNot scammers. It is Citibank. Only call if a payment is past due.
- SLI get calls starting as early as 8am from this number claiming to be from Citi bank needing to update account information. I admittedly was late once on a payment a few days (6) past my due date but made the payment online. So I'm baffled as to why I'm still getting calls from this number. All my personal information and payments are current but the calls keep coming
- Caller: Citibank
- Call type: Telemarketer
- EvaThese calls come every day at 8:15am. Totally annoying. I turn my phone off every night before I go to sleep now.
- oscar replies to MSame here.. I have automatic payment set up, too
- MikeIt's Citibank. They have called me two or three times a day for the past week. They are getting sneaky and are now calling form this number. Previous number called from was (800) 388-2200.
- ChrisYup received a call the last three days with this number saying I owe a debt from citi bank but that's a bunch of BS, I always pay my bill on time so this is definitely a scam. I just hung up on them.
- Caller: Citi-bank (?)
- Call type: Debt collector
