Got one this afternoon. Who are they?

dont call them back I smelling a fake debt collector!  who else would leave a voice mail with yo instead of you ect. don't give them any personal information either if they where serving you with papers they would do it . They would already have the information on file.

Had several calls from this #. I don't know who they are did talk once and asked what # they were calling or who? He refused to say any name and asked for our # so he could pull it up on computer. I said Norway you called me and if you don't know who you called I'm not answering any ?'s and he hung up.

I got a call on Jan.10.2013 about a debt from 2006. I so not think that I owe this debt but I if I don't pay it, they are going to bring a case into my local court(they had a case number-whether real or not). I am on disability and cannot afford to fight it.The call came in on  716-253-6594. Any suggestions?

You can be sure this is a scam.  Do not call them back.  Do not confirm and/or give them any information about yourself.  If this was valid they would know who they are calling.  They wouldn't have a court case number unless a court document had been filed (which they said they haven't done yet).  
You can bet this is a scam and if you contact them they will phish more personal information out of you to make future contacts seem even more legitimate, or for identity theft.  
Ignore their contact requests ... do not call, respond to mail, or even talk to them.  They appear to be a telemarketing collection agency scam.  Many people are getting nuisance calls from this number in NY state.

Its fake. Dont call them back or answer.

Got a phone call from this number a week ago , I ask him for a  phone number so I will call him back on lunch time, he se say no that he will call me on my cell .  I was so busy at work when he call that I did have him my cell #,  them he call back and left a message about a money that I owe since 2008 I don't recall that in my mind,  so he said that he will garnish the money from work.  I just waiting for him to call back to send him to hell without mercy.

I received a call from them about a payday loan that i had forgotten about because my bank switched, it was an older loan from 09, they were willing to take a settlement offer and sent over a letter right away to my email.

called saying I owed a debt, I hung up.

This person named Adam called me from 8665975812. He said I owed a debt from 2008 which I do not recall getting but he had bank information from me from that time including other personal information. I did not tell him anymore and when I told him that I have filed bankruptcy, he started to curse and yell at me telling me I was a loser and took the easy way out etc.. He also said he would continue to call me until I paid with our without bankruptcy being filed. This is harassment. He refused to give me any info on his company as well.

My brother is recieving these phone calls and they said they were looking for me under my maiden name is they were telling my brother it was for fraud charge from 2006 and that I should call back this # with an account # and ask for a Mr. Jackson....after just doing a credit check I know that i have no outstanding debt from 2006 that would be on that report....total scam....with that being said...does anyone know who I can contact to have these annoying calls be stopped to my brothers house....HELP!

It's a scam, just ignore the calls, they'll eventually give up.

i got a call from a mr jackson saying i owed a bill back from 2008, they had all my personal and banking information, so they sent me a letter meanwhile i looked into my bank records and did take out a payday loan that i completely had forgotten about ,they worked out a settlement and sent me records showing account was paid.pay day loans do not report to your credit report since they are cash advances chris which the original lender had advised me of.

I received a call on my cell phone from a Mr Jackson looking for another person that IS NOT me.  I let it go to voice mail,  Mr. Jackson said something about a fraud case out of TX I live in PA.  I have fallen for three of these idiots in the past .  I did my own research and found that the "law firm" he is claiming to be with is a "collection attorney" out of Buffalo NY.  However there is no info about them listed on the BBB web site and their website looks suspect.  I  e-mailed my consumer protection attorney.  He emailed me back just now saying that they were a junk debt collector and to block the number, which I have done..The local  number which is 716-253-6052 was what showed up on my caller ID.  Another red flag is the call back number that he left 888-704-9227 is linked to an apartment complex in CA.  I would love to know how they got my number since I'm not the person they are looking for.
