- BenIt's the "combat veteran interview center". Calling to inform all combat veterans that the deadline for getting VA health care has been extended from 2 years to 5 years and to give information on how to get benefits if your interested.

- SFC Deb| 3 repliesThis is a legitimate call, the VA is trying to contact combat vets to ensure they are aware of their benefits. This is the press release.

- Reservist replies to tsIt took a few seconds for them to come on the line once I answered. They just wanted to give information about the VA Health System. It was painless, and they didn't ask for any information (SSN, etc.). It only took about 4 minutes for them to go through their information, and that was it.
- Brent replies to SFC DebHey thanks for the info, I'm an Iraq vet and I didn't know the services were extended. Thanks for the link, next time I see that number I guess I will answer.

I got a mailing today and called they act like a member of the va however they asked for my SSN I did not give it to them then they tried to get me to call another phone number (to get to local va in next state over) I have no local va however it smelled like a SCAM... best to be careful... is there no end to the BS we must put up with? - Jer replies to ts| 1 replyThis number is active again after a hiatus. It is a valid phone call from the VA or a VA contractor for the new VA Choice program which I had just made a doctor's appt. through. The VA Choice is a program started after the recent complaints and insider info on the quality of care at the VA, i.e. long waiting times for an appt. It allows eligible veterans including non-service connected to get an appt. with a doctor outside the VA if the VA can't see you in 30 days. Ironically it takes about 30 days or more for all the paperwork to be assessed before you actually see the doctor who accepts VA funding.
- William Pope| 1 replyHad my info from the Va. and said that I was approved for the choice card. Wanted to know what Dr. I would be seeing and that they would have to approve it. Sounded very real. I got a letter from the paper work that looked real also, from this same number on it. They had my last 4 numbers of my SS. This has to be an inside job from the the theft of the Va. They just knew too much info on myself. They are good . This is something that the FBI should be concerned about. We had a loss of The Va. Numbers some time ago. I'm wondering just who has all the vets info on it. Address phone numbers and last 4 of the SS. Look out about the Choice Card, make sure they are for real when dealing with the Choice Card company. This is the number in which is given on the VA paper work and an Va envelope from Washington DC. with the seal and every thing. Vets please be careful.
- Caller: Va. Choice Card

- JoeGot a call from 785-350-3800, Topeka, KS. Caller took a moment to come on line, but sounded quite nervous. Identifying himself as a Rep from the VA, no name. Kept referring to the program as "Choices' Program. Told me I was now ineligible for the Choice Program as the mileage from my home to the nearest VA had been recomputed. Seemed strange since I recently received a letter from the (Real) VA indicating I was eligible due to the distance involved. The caller would not answer any questions except for saying he was calling from Waco, TX. He read from a script, and was very choppy in his delivery. Told me to call 866-606-8198 to get more information.
- Caller: Unknown, Claimed to be VA Rep.
- Diane Roberts replies to ThomasYou need to add her on your paperwork for her to be the one to receive the calls so they can freely talk to her HIPPA. I had that same issue recently with them. Hope that helps!
To the free and the Brave... Hooah.
