- Tim| 9 repliesI would like for you to submit the person or company that maybe registered to the above number. In this day of identity theft I'm wary of any calls that I receive maybe a scam. I would appreciate some type of confirmation.
Thank you.- Caller: Linebarger Goggan blair & Sampson, LLp
- Rob replies to Tim| 8 repliesI too want to report the same thing not to mention the have lefy messages at the address I used to live at 10years ago. I have long since taken care of any bills I have as I have been dealing with an illness and moved away several places since. I happen to know the current inhabitants so they, when they check on me, give me the messages from them, not to mention in that particular area there are several people with the same name as mine. I told them to stop calling but they were rude and said the file mustve been pulled cause they couldn'y find anyrhing. The number they used is 1 866 515 2535 H.Keiter is the supposed attourney calling

If you don't receive the proper notification from the IRS, regard random phone calls about federal tax debts with suspicion. Here's what to watch for:
You receive a call from a private collection agency, but did not receive any letters first.
The private collection agency mentioned by the caller is not one of the three firms currently authorized to collect tax debts -- The CBE Group, the Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP or Pioneer Credit Recovery.
The caller threatens legal action if you don't make good on your debts. Private collection agencies in the program cannot take enforcement action against you.
The caller requests that you make payments to an individual or the private collection agency directly.
When in doubt about a caller or letter, contact the IRS directly at (800) 829-1040. For more information about the program, go to the IRS's Web site.
Source: The Internal Revenue Service - trcylkI recieved a call from 866-606-9041 and a computer voice voice-mail message was left asking me to call back "for an important issue for one of their clients."
They called about a week ago with the same message. No other details were provided. - Suspicious One| 8 repliesI just now received a call from a man named Sean from law offices of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson. He asked me to verify my address in order to give me details as to why he is calling. I told him no! He said he was representing the state of CA. I told him if that was the case he should know my address! He said he had a document that was returned. (Yea right!) I said well too bad. I don't know who you are and will not give you any details. I asked for his address: 290 Care Street Harrisburg, PA 17109. I looked this up on Google maps and it's an empty space! He said his direct number is 866-505-4003. He called from Ph# 866-606-9041. There was a lot of noise in the background when he called (almost like a boiler room).
These people need to be checked out!
BTW Sean would not give me his last name.
He came off professional, calm, and understood that I needed to check them out first. I can see how many can be fooled by their approach. "we can not give you information until we verify who we are speaking to" he kept saying. If I verified my address and some others details he could tell me why he was calling....
C'mon!!!
Be warned!- Caller: Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson

Got two of the above to a new phone number I just acivated via Google Voice, must be a recycled number from someone? - AnnoyedMy daughter never had credit cards and yet multiple calls are being made to her grandparents house from this law firm asking for her. The name resemble her last name and my parents last name but thats about it. Poor grandparents are distraught thinking their grandaughter is in financial crisis at the age of 19! They always call but always looking for someone who does not live there probably hoping that they are relatives so they can get information. This is really bothersome. Any suggestion on how to get rid of these calls?

- Bothered and Suspicious| 3 repliesThis is the numbers that they use. 866 606 9047. And its true, they wont give you information on what they are calling you about until you verify your name and SS # ! Now, why would you want to do that? They do act very professional and they make everything sound so real. Their number would probably be in sequence 866 606 9048, 866 606 9049, 866 606 9050. My poor teenager was stressed when his Dad confronted him about suppossedly credit card bills that he owed and we didn't know about. ( We didn't want to start his own creditcard yet). When we checked his credit history it was clean. We came to a conclusion that these people are fishing for names. Folks may have the same name but they are not the same people. This is really bothersome and creates unwanted stress! Shame on you making your living this way!

- Marie Manuel replies to DerekI just received a PRESORTED LETTER today, via U.S. Postal Service. I was suspicious when, the address was listed in Harrisburg, PA. Believe me, California State Franchise Tax Board, would not have to go to PA. to collect its debts. I will contact, the office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General. I will also, contact my California State Attorney General.

- Charlotte Tomblin replies to Marie| 5 repliesOn July 20th 2010 my husband recieved a letter that he had court costs in collections from 1998, even though nothing had ever been in writing to us previous. The letter had a Jacksonville address, yet you send the payment to San Antonio, Texas. It arrived in a presorted letter SWDI 33912. When we called the first time they threatened my husband with a suspended drivers licence, the second time we called the girl made up her last nme (Maria Gomez) and when I called to speak to Maria Gomez, I was hung up on. Has to be a SCAM!!! Checking this out tomorrow. Also new tel # 1 866 234 9790.
- Bobbie| 1 replyThese robo calls won't quit. I refuse to answer or reply but find them worrisome since I don't want my phone number out there for other scams. How can they be stopped? I have no debts at all so it can't be a collection matter.
