This number 866-623-9354 is from a FAKE Citigroup automated message which pretends to be a fraud service that immediately asks about your social security and other private info.

I hung up and called back using caller ID, and mysteriously a woman picked up immediately , trying to pretend she worked for Citigroup and that it was a standard procedure to make an automated call, which is total BS.  I do not have any Citigroup cards of any kind.

No fake, this is an authentic Citibank # for their Fraud Early Warning department. You can call the customer service # on the back of your card and they'll direct your call.

This is a fake number for Citibank. When I called it back they hung when I asked them to clarify who I was speaking with. Citi has no such number

I received a call from this number today saying they were from the Citibank fraud department and noting that the credit card they recently sent me had not been activated. I had recently received a new card, but activated it two weeks ago (and have already made several charges with it which are posted on my account). When I pressed the # to speak with a representative, they asked me for my password. This set off warning bells, so I hung up and called the number on my credit card. They had no record of their fraud department calling me, and I am not flagged in their system.

I also received a call today and Sly-dialed it back to see if there was an automated message system.  The automated Sly-dial operator requested I submit a valid, U.S. telephone number as it cannot direct this prepaid wireless call.  Prepaid wireless.  Hmmmm....Beware.

This phone number has called may times to our place of business... I didn't say anything when I picked up one day and instead of immediatley hanging up on me when i courtiously answered the phone, I was on hold for a moment and then transferred to a young gentleman.  I told the man to plese take us off of his national calling list.  He said that it was not that kind of a call & that he went into his sales pitch. I answered him with if you don't take us off your national calling list I will report you and citigroup to the proper authorities... He hung up!
Incedentally we are still recieving the calls, hence why I'm trying to find who to report them to...

This is not a real citigroup number! Nor is the number you posted here a citigroup number. THIS IS A SCAM! Do not give them your information. If you are concerned about your account, hang up the phone and call the number on the back of your card.

This number called me and tried to get my information.  I immediately hung up and called Citigroup and got a new account.  Thank goodness for all the emails my mother sends me about this kind of thing!  I knew to hang up immediately!

I received a call from this number and when I answered there was no one there.  I immediately redialed the number and a woman who identified herself as "PJ" said "Welcome to Customer service, may I have your 16 digit credit card account number please?"  I asked with whom I was speaking, she repeated "PJ," and it took me a couple of times to get a company name out of her.  She then said "Citicard and AT&T."  Strange, I didn't know those two companies were partnering these days.

I got a call from 1-866-623-9354 and I gave them my last SSN # and password. Can somebody tell me what they can do with that information? Can they use that information to destrop my credit by opening a new account with a new credit card company?
    Thank you

I got a call on my cell phone and stupidly picked up (I usually don't answer ANY calls these days unless my phone is displaying a name from my Contact List, but I didn't have my glasses on). An automated message said "This is a Fraud Citi Mastercard Alert Message for *** *** (my own name). If you are *** *** please press one" - or something very much like that. I immediately hung up, then wrote down the number and googled it.

I got a call today on my cellular phone. Apparently I missed the call, no voicemail was left.  I called the number back on my land line phone and got a recording stating all agents are busy, then after about a minute, the call disconnected.  Sounds fishy to me.

Same as concerned, above, but on my land-line. I believe that this is a company consulting for Citi , not Citigroup itself. They are fishing for information. my advice is: don't anawer the phone, call the number on your card. Perhaps they are bill collectors?

I called Citibank (using the number on the back of my card) after I missed a call from this number, and there was indeed a fraud alert on my card, so I think this number is legit.  Why they didn't leave a message is beyond me though.

Called me and I hung up after the zip code. I called Citi and they verified that the number is automated and they are indeed doing what the number said (sending certain members new cards because of a possible security risk).

If you get a call I would not go through with it and then call Citi directly to deal with it.
