I also got calls from this number.  I called them & they identified themselves as Converve who offers financial services.  They would not tell me anymore.  I reminded them that I am on the Do Not Call list & asked them to stop calling me.

In additional, I entered a complaint with the Do Not Call registry.

I called and they would ONLY say they provided FINANCIAL SERVICES to companies and individuals and then wanted me to verify my year of birth.  When I refused, for fear of some type of identity theft, they said they were ending the call.  However, I did tape my call, told them so ON the call and told them NOT to call my work number in the future and when/if they are prepared to tell me something more about WHY they are calling, they are welcome to call my non-work number.  WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

The # that called MY NEIGHBOR was 866 625 5094, He claims that they called looking for my boyfriend, who lives at my address.  They said they called the neighbor because our addresses are 1 number apart.  They said the company name was CONSERVE and they had good news for him.  They told the neighbor to relay the message and that they would call him back to make sure that he did so.  He is an old almost 80 year old man and believed that this CONSERVE dude was calling from the government.  I told him that if they know our address, why didnt they just send the "good news" through the mail.  This is very strange, bordeline, creepy!!!

They keep calling, asking for my wife.  They either pretend to be like her 'best friend' or like they act like they have previously spoken to her.  The female that called, "Amber" had a sweet, pretty voice, again trying to convince me she actually "knows" my wife.  When I asked what the call was regarding, "Amber" said it was a "private business matter".  Yeah, right!  I told Amber, "I'm her husband. If there is a private-business matter you need to talk to her about, I'm sure I'm already aware so tell me what you want."  At which time, she ended the call.

How stupid do these people think we really are?

Our unique win-win strategic approach not only defines us; it's redefining the very nature of the business and we've got the numbers to prove it.

This extremely competitive distinction means that since 2004, we’ve collected more total dollars, with the highest recovery percentage, than any other collection agency on the federal, small business contract".

Someone named Sean Rivers called my employment agency to see if I was working for them, but wouldn't tell them who he was or why he was calling.  They told him that it was their policy to not give out information about their employees, but that if I did work for them they would pass along the message that he called.

Considering that this is the 4th post in 5 days about this number, and the 5th in a month, I'd say they must be seriously ramping up the shady-factor in their calls.

I think they are a debt collector for Sally Mae student loans, among others.  They called me at work, and I did some diligece on the internet.  It is a company called ConServ, and they have an impressive web-site.

Heres an idea... Pay your student loans and they will stop calling.

Every student loan that is not repaid effects someone else that would pay from getting a student loan...

Sooo... pay your bill and stop complaining!

FIRST OF ALL, I AGREE WITH :) IN LAST POSTING. I HAD SERIOUS DEBT AND STILL DO BUT GOT MYSELF IN TO A REHABILITATION PROGRAM WITH THAT COMPANY AND IT HAS BOOSTED MY CREDIT SO I WONT COMPLAIN. HONESTLY EVERYONE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT DEBT COLLECTORS WELL PAY YOUR DEBT. IS IT THEIR FAULT YOU CAN'T TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITIES. YOU PEOPLE ARE THE REASON WHY OUR ECONOMY IS SO BAD. SERIOUSLY, GROW UP STOP COMPLAINING.
1- THEY WILL CALL U TILL ITS PAID ( IT IS THEIR JOB)
2- THEY CANT GIVE ALL INFORMATION BECAUSE WELL ITS AGAINST THE LAW
3- THEY HAVE TO HEAR YOU PEOPLE SCREAM ALL DAY ABOUT TAKING CARE OF YOUR ISSUES SO GIVE THEM A BREAK. MY REP WAS SWEET AND VERY INFORMATIVE. GIVE THEM RESPECT AND THEY WILL RESPECT YOU.

They keep calling and not leaving a message (sometimes as many as three times a day).  I finally picked up today and they are looking for my son who hasn't lived with me for over ten years.  They asked if I had a good number where they could reach him.  I told them that I haven't heard from my son in over two years (the truth).  I believe that he has a student loan for some classes he told at a vocational school.  I believe this is a collection agency.

I do not have any student loans or any other outstanding loans for that matter (super excellent credit score)and I am getting calls from this number, so the comment about making sure you pay your loans and stop complaining is a little presumptuous.

They call a few times a day. Do not leave messages and when I answer, it sounds like someone is on the line but doesn't say anything. Very creepy.

If they are a dept collector agency, they must not have a good recovery rate, because if they do not talk when I answer, how can they know they have the right or wrong phone# for the person they are looking for.

So, Mr Smarty Pants, do you have anymore bright ideas????????????

I figured it was bogus off the bat. They called asking for my husband, saying "I have some personal information that just came across my desk, and I need to speak with him." I said I would call him and leave a message,  but she kept pushing me to give her his sell number, because it was important that she speak to him by 3 pm.

They seem to be appropriately named the "company" Con-Serve" because they're serving themselves as con artists (which in etymology start out as confidence artist--to gain your trust and swindle you out of your ID & money). Get on their "do not call list" & always research anyone before passing along message. Never give your info out if they're calling you.

My company recently received a call from this number early in the morning before we open. The voice mail system took a message asking for "employment verification" for someone who works for another company in our building. It's probably some kind of tracing technique to get a student loan collected.

They have called me several times.  You don't have to be the person in default on your loans.  If a friend used you as a contact they are calling trying to get in touch with them.  They identify themselves as Conserveto me and have been polite but I don't owe them money.  If I happen to answer I just tell them I will pass along the message.

    Just Ignore Them
And, no, I don't owe them or anyone else a dime.

Incompetents like them are why we have vmail and answering machines on the ol' land line.

Call & hang up?  That's fine.  The ringer is off & if you don't leave a message, I don't even know you called!
