This number appeared in a text from 415-373-8156 that said: "Thanks for visiting our website.  Please call 866-630-3786 to claim your $100 Walmart gift card.  Reply STOP to unsubscribe."

Apparently, people who did call got a magazine subscription telemarketer on the other end. I just got a busy signal.

I never visited any website, and don't use my cell phone for the internet at all.  I'm also on a do not call list - how do these scammers still get through?

like kLeigh, it was text msg saying "Thanks for visiting our website.  Please call 866-630-3786 to claim your $100 Walmart gift card.  Reply STOP to unsubscribe" but mine came from 14086676649.  I am at work and not visiting the internet - I rarely leave my phone number anywhere on the web- so I knew it was scam. I did not call back, not worth my time and minutes.

These morons keep sending me text mgs that  tell me I've won a $100 Walmart gift certificate and invite to call 866-630-3786 to redeem. I too have never visited their website.

I called the 866-630-3786 and gave them a ration of crap;  they refused to answer ownership questions. I would love to find out who these morons are and make their life miserable.

The owner of 866-630-3786 is Chris Armstrong, his address is 1704 E Burning Oak Dr, Draper UT, 84020 his phone number is 801-301-7454.

He along with Dale Savage, Alissa McCrady and Steven Bulpitt conduct numerous phone/internet scams from 5077 Morning Laurel Lane, West Jordan, UT 84088

Same thing here. I knew it could not be legit so I first tried a reverse directory (no luck) then I googled it and found this site. Thank you for the info!

I never saw this before I got my iPhone - which was last week.  Got it today, from 415-774-6317.  I am wondering if it is unique to iPhone.  I surfed plenty on my old phone, and have only hit a couple (known) sites on this phone.  Curious more about the sites that Apple has you register with.

It is not unique to iPhone. I received it on my non-smart LG.

They got me twice yesterday (9/16) - Once from 415-774-6317 and again from 415-746-0964.  I don't have a smart phone.  Any thoughts about recourse?

Got the same message.  Called with a business phone and a woman answered with a thick, unintelligible Indian accent who demanded my zip code.  That's about all I could understand - apparently purely a scam!  The call originated from:  4155480776

I too received  a text message from this number.  I called them to unsubscribe (from a different phone), they agreed, but never asked for my number.  Can anything be done to this company as I am on a do not call register
