- wlwjr66| 3 repliesJust got my call at 2:43pm EDT "from the [fake/scam] IRS" once again. From this new number this time. I answered seeing a new 866 number upon which heard the automated female voice that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me....etc..etc..etc...
- CPJust listened to their VM- The IRS has a lawsuit against me, last and final call. I think it's a scam but does anyone else here still owe taxes? I do at the state level.
- Caller: "IRS"
- Shane replies to Cease| 2 repliesThese people are using burner phones routed through India. Its not just this number. I got another call from 202-758-2127. Terrorism comes in many forms. This is just another. A girl in my office almost gave these [***] 2k. Not sure how these criminals go home and look their family in the face knowing that they have hurt so many other families. And as many hackers as we have in the USA, why have they not declared War on these cowards that hide behind the phone.
- Jason replies to Shane| 1 replyThis half wit called me with a lame script and said that they were starting a lawsuit against me for bad taxes filed for 2009 - 2013. He said I was going to do jail time and he was going to send the police to my door if I didn't pay him 2400. He told me my full name. I then told him that any moron can read caller ID and to tell me where I worked, he then said "Uh Uh, that information is in the other file. I told him I was a police officer and I was going to call the Feds. He said "Uh Uh you are?" then he hung up. What a bunch of low life scum of the earth people. This is a form of terrorism and the USA should mount an attack on them. In my work place, they have already tried three times with other people. They always have an Indian accent. Scum of the Earth....!!!!

- tekkie"We have been trying to reach you. This is your final call. The IRS is filing a lawsuit..." and at that point I hung up. 3 calls in 3 days. Scumbag scam calls. The real IRS still uses the good ol' US Postal Service, and they would have sent it certified mail. They know where I live, because I pay my taxes from the same address.

- ChiefReceived vm message from 866-632-9109 stating "this is final call" and "IRS is filing a law suit against me" "should call immediately to get info on case file". Robo call. Scam call trying to get money from you. The IRS never calls you and does all contact via US Postal Service. And, not that it matters, I am not worth suing, but gladly pay my taxes like a good red blooded American should! Don't fall for the scam!

- Joko replies to wlwjr66| 2 repliesI just received the same call, is it a scam??
- qwerty replies to Joko| 1 replyGee, I wonder what almost all the other posts on this thread say about it?
If that still doesn't convince you, read here: https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/irs-repeats-warning-about-phone-scams
Have you seriously not heard of this old scam by now? - Slim replies to qwertyI guess they have not heard of it
nor read of it
even though it is the "most advertised" scam in all internet, printed & broadcast media.
Maybe it has not yet been exposed on Mars or wherever some posters came from.
But, we can probably safely assume, that poster neither read the previous posts nor will return to read yours.
Makes ya wonder, doesn't it? - TaxpayerSame thing for me too - threatening to sue me. Told them to go ahead
