- GAby Jaimes| 11 repliesI got charged in my credit card and this is the number shows up!
- Caller: UBA
- Kaycee replies to GAby JaimesI had a charge show up on my debit card and cannot find out any info. After calling the number, It was after hours and there was no info saying who or what they are. The only other info I have is the name/initials, UBA.
- Kim replies to GAby JaimesI also found an unauthorized charge of $29.99 "UBA 8666375833" and am trying to investigate it.
do you have any more information? thanks
marniari@aol.com - Whitney| 5 repliesI had a charge on my credit card of $29.99 as well. UBA stands for United Benefits Advantage its a company that you can sign up for a membership with and they tell you different ways of how you can save money. I have no idea how I got signed up for it but apparently the $29.99 is a membership fee. If you call the number between 8-5 during the week it will give you another number you can call to cancel your account. Unfortunately the $29.99 charge is there to stay but you won't be charged any more.
877-392-6630 was the number I called to cancel my account. Hope this helps.- Caller: United Benefits Advantage
- Sam replies to Whitney| 1 replyI got 2 charges from them. A $39.95 and $19.99 and I don't know how. I don't understand why. And I can't even call now because it's saturday so I will have overdraft charges in my account
- Sam replies to SamAnd I just called my bank and they said that I would have to wait until the charges go through and come in to sign an affidavit to dispute them. Has anyone else done this and gotten the charges taken off? And I also looked it up on the Better Business Bureau website and could not find it either so I don't know if it is even a credible business.
- daniel| 2 repliesI also got this charge, but my bank is investigating it. I will be refunded the 29.99 and get a new bank card.
- daniel replies to daniel| 1 replyOK, If you bought something online, your account was shared with third party businesses and someone calls you to offer something. At the end of the conversation they ask you to verify your name (even though you say no a hundred times)just hang up the phone and dont verify your name. Once you verify your name you authorize them to sign you up for thier membership. This is completely a scam and they will continue to get people until we spread the word.
- marcus| 4 repliesthese people have been scaming me for $39.99 and $19.99 a mounth for 3 months if they call say no!! my banks looking into it right now

I dont know where this happened i just got my card in august..but call the better business bureau and they will resolve it for you as well..hope this helps!!
- Angela replies to danielGot this too late. They nailed me with their scam! Realized it after I already went through it all. My plan is to cancel as soon as the paperwork arrives. I am so upset! I order 1 thing online for $6.00 and now I am stuck with $40 worth of charges. And if I don't cancel ASAP it will be $400 after this "trial"
I am SO upset with this. - D/ replies to lf42| 2 repliesMy daughter was scammed by National Readers Service (Pittsburgh, PA), a magazine telemarketer, back in August. We have since filed complaints against them with the Federal Trade Commission and Attorneys General. She agreed during the initial solicitation to a preview offering from United Benefits Advantage (but the “costs” of the program were deceptively disclosed).
The debit processing contact number for UBA’s $19.99 non- refundable withdrawal was 866-637-5833. Upon calling them they agreed to cancel the program (a $19.99 per month charge). Here is the contact information that she was given.

If you need other information this Ripoff Report response has information from Cbsi Membership Services at 1-888-255-4989. http://www.ripoffreport.com/Security-Services/United-Benefit-Advan/united-benefit-advantage-and-i-aez8z.htm# Evidently they can determine the third party business responsible for registering you and connect you with them directly. I don't know this for a fact. I'm just taking Edwin O. Velazquez at his word.
Be sure to request WRITTEN cancellation confirmation.

www.theNRSscam.blogspot.com - Angela replies to D/| 1 replyYou know this is SO screwed up! I never EVER received the promised paperwork from this company concerning my membership, and when I finally realized the numbers next to the transaction on my statement where the 800 number for cancelling, I immediately called to cancel. They said it was cancelled. Now, I have a charge for 19.99 on my account that reeks of this scam although I am not 100% sure as there is no real company name. I believe it may be this same company, It simply comes up as a bank card purchase MEMBERB866 MEMBERB86 VIRGINIA BCH VA.
- Angela replies to AngelaFound out about that $19.99 charge. My bank was able to track down an 800 number connected with the transaction. Funny thing is it connected me to a so-called ID theft prevention service. I cancelled with them, but don't think I will get my money back as I now know how it happened. The telemarketers not only signed me up for their services but this program as well. Best advice I can give if you don't have caller ID is NEVER agree to verify your name when these companies call. I am not sure if the ID theft prevention is legitimate but if it is I don't think they are too good as they said their "partner" said they sent me an e-mail concerning their services and I never received such an e-mail. we'll see just how effective everything is next month. If it comes up again, I will definitely report fraud.
- LiciaI just got this charge too! When I called and talked to them they couldnt find any of my information. I told them I wake up and find that they took it upon themselves to use my money for their services without my knowledge! They couldnt cancel me since they couldnt find me in the records and said it may take a day or 2 for my file to show up. There has got to be something that can be done about this company. They shouldnt be able to charge my card and keep the money when I never allowed them to charge my credit.

- abc123 replies to GAby JaimesThis number called me incessantly, I ignored the call, and then I received this charge. I never signed up for UBA (United Benefits Advantage), and am sure they got my number from another service I signed up for. Per the message below, call this number back and let them know what happened. They will credit your charge back if you really push them.
- -D-I got hit by the same thing. IMC (International Magazine Co.) suckered me into buying their service. When I verbally signed up over the phone, I was told they needed written consent to process it... What a bunch of BS that was! Fortunately, it was on a credit card, and my mother knows everyone at the bank. We're going to dispute it, and get new cards.
- Caller: IMC (International Magazine Co.)
- Call type: Telemarketer
- StaciThe letters UBA appear on my bank statement on a monthly basis with the unauthorized withdrawal of $39.95. This number was given to me by the bank when I made an inquiry about the transactions, but I am hesitant to call it. Should I call it and cancel my alleged account, or just close my card and dispute the transactions?
- GEORGEMy account, is being charged 39,95 $ every 3rd of the month and next to the transaction shows UBA 866-637-5833, I already cancelled my debit card, and reported a fraud case to my bank and they send me a dispute form I filled it out and faxed it to them.
on top of that,I will go to the police station in the morning and file a complaint on this, can anybody give me an advise on what to do next.?- Caller: UBA

- Pete replies to GAby Jaimes| 2 repliesWe just got 'dinged' with a $39.95 charge on our credit card following ordering a $10 item. The charge showed up with two phone numbers 877.330.4449 which is United Benefits Advantages, and 877.822.5303 which was a 15 day trial for ID protection.
I called the 822.5203 number first and they indicated (after significant questioning) that they would begin charging 24.95 per month in a few days - I easily cancelled that one.
I then called the 330.4449 number and was told that the charge of $39.95 was non refundable, but that we could keep the certificates. I went back to the 822 number and they gave me yet another number for UBA - 888.235.9042. I called that number, got the same story as the first UBA number until I mentioned all of the negative material on the Web regarding UBA - indicated that if the charges were not reversed that I would go to court - I didn't even have to ask for a supervisor - within 5 seconds she indicated that they would credit my credit card account iin full for the $39.95 charge.
I strongly urge anyone with this kind of situation to threaten to file a complaint - your problem should go away.
Pete
