I wanted to check out this number to see if there was anything written about her.  BUT - I decided that there are a bunch of nutjobs out there on the WEB that will say anything!!!   And to check her out for myself.

Turns out that she works WITH the local police department AND the Federal Trade Commission to STOP Identity Theft.

She was a real GEM out there in pile of COAL!

    Mike,
    Which local police department?
I received the same calls, and it is what is called Phishing. They try to get you to give them your SS# and other personal information so that they can steal your identity.
Do not give them any information over the phone.\
Mike, I can't help but think you are some of the "coal" we are trying sift through.

Left me a message saying she was detective  lloyd and that i had my identity stolen and that I should call her back. I spoke with her with the intent of getting info from her. Here is what i found out:

866-641-8049 ex 5181 not a police department, she said she works with Denver PD, but a private company
Name of company she said was accurate investigations
She will try and ask you questions, do not give her any info.
I called Denver PD and gave them the info.
    Scam!

Actually, if you people had any brains at ALL, there is more than one Denver PD.  Seriously.  Not only that but this is the definition of PHISHING:

In the field of computer security, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Communications purporting to be from popular social web sites, auction sites, online payment processors or IT administrators are commonly used to lure the unsuspecting public. Phishing is typically carried out by e-mail or instant messaging,

Detective Lloyd didn't email or text message me, and it appears that she didn't contact you through those means, either.

I have NO IDEA who you people are - BUT - I am a Small Business Owner, so I have every right to be suspicious.  As it turns out, there WAS a virus in my payroll database, and she assisted me in cleaning it up, and protection myself, my Business, and my employees.

However, I didn't "jump right in" and work with her.  I investigated her thoroughly myself.  When I was satisfied that Det. Lloyd  was on the up and up, I spoke to her at length, and she very, very clear that she in NO WAY represented herself as an Officer of the Law.  She works with the Credit Reporting Agencies to Investigate Online Identity Theft.

So, yes, you have every right to be careful about who you reveal your personal information to - be smart! But that also means when there are Consumer Watchdogs out there protecting the General Public against the unlikely event that your Identity HAS been compromised - don't be stupid.  They can't help you if you don't help them!

CAUTION!!!  I called the number several times punching in different extensions and ALL calls rolled over to "Elizabeth Floyd" (sp?).  What is she an ONE PERSON office???  She calling stating she's with EQUIFAX - trying to "verify" credit info.

COME ON !  "IF" she was legit, you'd get "EQUIFAX" answering NOT some cell phone forwarding machine so she's either working for herself (sales??) OR it's a SCAM.

NO Business or WEB site ANYWHERE on the INTERNET!!!!! What kind of operation is she running??  NO address, corporate directory, employees listed BUSINESS LICENSE etc..etc..etc..  WHO runs this kind of business??   You got scammed or bought some vanilla service worth nothing.

Legitimate business operators DO NOT do business this way!  They have "offices" "land lines" "references" with the LOCAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE or the Better Business Bureau.  Where are her listings???  IF things go BAD who are you going to "complain" to??? You don't even know where she is!!!

Do yourself a favor, don't give out ANY information to "callers".  EQUIFAX does not do businss this way.

I SPOKE TO HER, TOO.  I LOOKED UP HER NUMER TO SEE WHAT'S WHAT. SHE DOESN'T WORK FOR EQUIFAX.   SHE WORKS FOR ALL THREE CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES + THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION- I HAD HER CHECKED OUT, AND SHE DIDN'T ASK ME FOR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION, SHE ALREADY HAD ALL OF MINE, SHE GAVE ME A LOT OF FREE INFORMATION TO HELP ME OUT.

    GOOD LUVK TO YOU!

DO NOT give this person any information.  She is a total scam.  Begin your call with asking her for her company name, website, and tax ID number.  See what you get.  And to the people that are posting in her defense, show YOUR true identity, Detective Floyd.  Beosh!

I got this call from detective loyd back in May 2010 and did not return her call because i felt right away she was a scam. I have read my credit report today only to discover someone took out a student loan with my name and social security number. This all happen to be during a time I myself was in school and coincidentally when detective Loyd or Laural called my home. Now I'm wishing I would have called her just to see what information she may have had on my identity theft. I did try to call her number today but the 866 641-8049 number only gives a busy signal. Maybe she has been caught for scamming?
