Please stop calling and harassing me. - shellysthebest| 3 repliesI kept getting calls from an investigator. I thought it was a bill collector or a scam or something so I screened my calls. Turns out he was trying to alert and inform me of a case in my name. But the time I called him back it was too late, he could do nothing for me. Then my car disappeared and I got stuck with a huge bill and a summons - not sure why I was afraid to answer a phone call - woulda saved me a lot of grief - sh*t.
- anon replies to shellysthebest| 2 repliesBS. If you had a legitimate "legal" claim, you'd have gotten dunning letters. If you still refused to contact the original creditor or third party to deal with this, THEN you would get a court summons - you never get a heads up you'll be served. EVER.
- shellysthebest replies to anon| 1 replyYa, you would think that. But it wasn't a bill collector, it was an investigator. If theyre bill collectors they have to admit that -that much I know (ive been in debt for awhile lol). This guy wasn't one.
- anon replies to shellysthebestDoesn't matter - debt collectors, lawyers, law offices, "investigators" working as or on behalf of debt collectors must still obey the FDCPA!
- B. SmithGot a call from Investigator Parker to call about an active investigation
- Caller: not given

- StacyS| 1 replyI have gotten several calls from that number 866 655 1648 answered for the first time since night now my car is gone. Can they track my location from the phone call and is it legal. I was not home I was at my mother's house
- Ron replies to StacyS'If' you were you were late on payments the re-possessors have it now- 'if' you were current ,report the theft to the proper authorities.
- StacyS| 2 repliesSo there is nothing I can do because I was late on my payments and how did they find the car if I was home. Is it legal to track my phone ?
- Ron replies to StacySThe re-possessors will watch your movements, know where you live, work, and who you visit. They also can put a magnetic GPS device on a vehicle to track it to within feet of where it currently is located. I seriously doubt if it is connected to your phone usage, but in this day and age, I can't tell you for sure. If I were you, I would report it as a theft and you will find out. Good luck!
- BigA replies to StacyS"I was not home I was at my mother's house" then you said "how did they find the car if I was home" So where were you? Most likely if you were at a relative's house they knew where the relative lived. If you were at home, most people park their car at their house. Your phone has nothing to do with this. You were late on your payments, ignored the phone calls and letters, and they came and took your car. Simple as that.
- StacySBigA , yes I was late on my payments and no I was not home , my mother just moved to that apartment. All I wanted to know is it legal for a person phone to be tracked by its GPS and I have answered calls and explain my circumstances.
