I got a real disturbing message on my voice mail from someone claiming to be with FL legal deparment and that my name and ssn is in legal trouble.  If he doesn't hear from me or my attorney then he will send someone to my home and he then stated my address and my work which he will see to it that I loose my job.  He was very hard to understand foreign accent.  I DID NOT call back because I received one about 2 weeks ago and it was a scam which I found out online.  If anyone has anything to add please do so.  They called from a legal department in FL at 8:00pm est time and I live in WA.  Something sounds fishy.

That thread on the Forums section of this board discusses this sort of scams.  They come from lots of different numbers.

I got a call from this number this morning.  His name is Dan Richards with a foreigh accent.  He called saying the same thing about my ssn.  I told him I will have a lawyer to call him

I just got a really upsetting call from a guy with an Asian accent who knew my first name and the last 4 digits of my SSN.  He said he was calling from the "legal department" and that there were serious charges pending against me.  I hung up and he called back and left a really threatening message saying if I don't call back someone will come to my work and to my house.  I will NOT be calling back, this must be a scam.  How awful!

i took out a payday loan online but it was not with this company i keep talking to a lady name Michelle Johnson (a woman with an American name that has an Indian accent) from 1-866-659-7342 stating that i owe $495 and that i need to fax an authorization letter to debit funds from my account; they even asked me to fax my photo id.  THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN!

Wow, I have gotten the same calls with this same stuff.  what a scam...

keep getting threatening calls from 866-659-7342 and 866-477-9180 saying that i owe 615 dollars, yet they cant tell me who i owe this to. then they keep telling me they are a legal dept and will garnish me and yet i dont owe them nor have i ever heard of them and every time i ask for info they hang up on me. they advise me to get an attorney, they are all indian sounding too. i did fill out an app online with us cash loans but never went through with it becuase of the terms and conditions, i guess this is how they get their info on people and try to scam them.

I also received several threatening phone calls from this number stating the same as the other posts.  They threatened me and my family as well as my references on an application that I had filed.  I called the company that I have a loan with where all of this information was and was informed that this is a scam.  I already knew this because it was not the first time that I received a call like this but every time they call they state that they are a different name.  This is pretty serious as they have a lot of information of mine and have both threatened me and my family.

I too received a disturbing call, and its so funny they all sound the same, yet they leave different telephone numbers.  They refuse to tell you what the case is involving or how much i owe. I ask for the fax number.  They just wanted my lawyers number. I gave them the number to my local police department and they keep calling me.  It so irritating. How do they get your number

i am trying figure out what we have in common and how did they get our info. Did you file a bk?  Im wondering if one of my creditors sold my info to these people.  I know exactly which creditor because I only used this reference with the one creditor. Im filing a complainant with the BBB against this company and the creditor. It sucks not having their fax number or their info. They wont identify themselves. they are cowards.

got the same message!! I called it back since it was the 3rd call, and voicemail said, this call may be recorded but such and such extension that person is unavailable....
Had me really nervous so I called...glad to hear it is a scam!!

I got the same message and they said that they were calling because i tried to get a payday loan and they said they put $1,150 in my account and i never paid them back (this was less than a week after i applied) so instead of calling to ask for money they wanted to make a show of me, so others know they are serious, so they reported it stolen. It is a bunch of bs because when i told them i called my bank and no money was ever put in my account they hung up on me. Apparently they didnt all get the memo because i got another call this morning at my job.

I received a call from 866-659-7342 on my cell and at work at 7:00 pm in the evening, sending threats. I have called the number all it said is this is being recorded and Mr. Scott is not there, nor do they know him or when he will be back.

I just got a call from them and a disturbing message on my cell. The man's voice who left a message sounded like a computer and it was hard to understand. Glad to know it's a scam! OMG! For the last 6 months I have been getting calls like this! It's ridiculous! I am sick to death of this! Scam, scam, scam! When will it stop ?!
