- adk replies to clkI had the same thing happen. He called today attempted to pretend like he was someone that I knew and then preceded to say he was from the radio station and wanted to know if my company was still in business.
When I asked him what this was about, he said, "nothing, just saying hello" and hung up. - I Cullens| 6 repliesWouldn't leave a name or number, the caller was a female. Although she wouldn't give me any information I decided to go ahead and take the number off of caller id. My boss asked me to type it into a search and this came up. I called the number back, and it said Media Cause to speak with Customer service press 1. So I did a younger sounding man answered the phone, and I asked who he was, he said who is this Michelle? I said no. And he just hung up. How rude.
- MBAnthony Ellis also called me on January 23rd 2009 and was claiming he was working for KSEV radio AM 700 in Houston Texas. He wanted me to pay $270. for 2 Public Service Announcements. He read the announcement as ( he claimed ) it would sound when read live and asked for the order. I was leery of two things.... #1 the subject matter was CHILD ABBUSE, and I've never been associated with anything like that, and ..... #2 I wanted to know the tine when the sponsored PSA was to air. I gave Mr. Ellis ( or who ever he is ) my fax # and asked for a list of possible time slots. Surprise !!!I have not received the fax yet... My Sister worked for 2 radio stations in Houston for over 20 years, so I called her. I wanted her to tell me if PSA's were ever used to make money ( by charging sponsors for a tag. She said " NO " PSA's are required by the FCC and are FREE...... That's why there called PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS. I believe this may be a scam. I'll be calling KSEV tomorrow.....
