Caller claims to be from a bank, calling about suspicious activity on a credit or debit card. It is a scam. No not call back or give any personal or financial information

This is a legit number from Citizen's Bank.  It is an internal number in their fraud department, verified through Citizen's themselves.

Right on EC you are 100% correct. Evan, making such a statement without any research to substantiate your claim clearly makes you an alarmist-a little knowledge is a dangerous thing-don't be a dumbbell!

This is a real number from Citizens Bank. In the message they left, they said to call the 866 number back or dial the number on the back of my card. I called the number on the back of my card and the bank told me someone tried to use my card in another state.

Keep in mind, just because the number is legit, doesn't mean the caller is! Scammers spoof legitimate numbers to trick people into a false sense of security to answer their calls and attempt to get money or personal information from you.
This is why no one will encourage others to report of legitimate numbers, as they only confuse people into believing it is a legit call when a scammer has called them and they come here to find out about the call.

Yes, it is legit. The number I dialed provided an alternate number (888-910-2500). I then called Citizens Bank (800 922-9999) who confirmed both numbers are valid for their Fraud Detection Dept.

I received an automated messsge from the same number stating my card was being used. I called citizens bank and they stated nothing on my account reflected this, & advised me to just monitor my account. Although the initial number appeared fraudulent to me. Clearly they knew something my bank didn’t.  I woke up with new charges on my debit account. I had to call my bank back & cancel my card.

I noticed they have a Van for sale on AutoTRADER using this number ???
