These bill collectors actually looked up our phone number and harass us now because of the person who lived in our house before us! I said we didn't know the person and asked them to take us off the list and they hung up on me.

Called and said this is FMS corporated and this is not a sales call. Dont know what it is about so i went back to sleep lol.

Called three times before leaving a voicemail message, then could barely understand what they were saying. I called back and got their associate Cordell, they were calling for someone whose collection calls I've had to deal with for over THREE YEARS now. He would not let me get in a request for the company's snail mail address and fax # so I could send a written letter stating they have incorrect contact info. From now on I just ignore calls coming from #s like that, and if I do answer for any reason and they ask for someone I've never heard of before or don't know, I'm just going to hang up. Not worth all the hassles.

I keep getting recorded calls from FMS. I don't know who they are. How do I make them stop.

Its a bill collector.  They somehow got my number in reference to a sister-in law I barely ever speak to.  Call them at 800-999-2443 and they will take your name off the list (maybe).

I just got a call from this FMS company, looked it up online, and found they're a debt collection agency.  I have zero debt, so assume they either have the wrong number or are trying to find out information about someone like one of my tenants.  Call sounds like you HAVE to press a number to get them to stop calling.  I just hung up.  Who knows what will happen when you press a number.  If vendors don't want to get stung by customers who don't pay bills, then they shouldn't offer so much easy credit.  Their non-paying customers/clients aren't anyone else's problem or doing.

FMS doesn't identify itself in any way so you're left to find out who's harrassing you by checking on the internet.  When I finally called them back, they gave me a person's first name I've never heard of connected to my last name.  There has never been a person of that name at this phone number or address and no such person in my family.  I'm on the do not call list, am not in debt, and they're violating the law by calling me.

Reporting abusive calls

FMS is a legitimate debt collection agency and does NOT fall under the "do not call" rules. If you have a debt - make arrangements to pay it or file bankruptcy. If you are NOT the person they are looking for then let them know. Usually they have done research and your name or number is associated with the person they are trying to find. If you know any information about the debtor (their current name, phone number, cell number, home address, etc.) give that information to FMS and they will promptly remove your number from their calling list.

I know this because my husband's ex-wife and her new husband seem to be in debt to everyone and I get these types of calls from many different collection agencies - I give them all the contact info I have and the calls stop. That is until the next time they default on a credit card.
