i recieved a notice today from this company and was wondering if its smart to respond to them and try to work out arrangments and take care of it out of court or to let it go, but it seems like i should try to work out arrangments with them because we cant afford to get sued we just purchased a house and the letter is offering a great settlement if i take care of it within 30 days or else they are sueing us and going after my husbands wages!!

A scam all the way. Got a call on cell phone from "unkown number' asking me if I was going to be home so that they could "serve papers" or call the 866 number to get it cleared up.  Guy at 866 number wanted to verify the last 4 of my social and kept throwing out numbers to see if I would give him the correct one. SCAM!  He said he was from PLG

This company made me lose my job by sending process servers to my work to serve me. I am so sick and tired of this country and how they go after single parents for everything they have, now there not going to get anything from me because I don't have a job. Hi do you like that?

I was served legal doc's today from a process server! What a joke! i should have took the compromise that was offered to me months ago! This is what i get for listing to all you people who got lucky and dodge there debts! i looked up every agency in the country, and not one company had positive feedback. For the person who is reading this all these postings are from people who are going through the frustration of being in debit up to there ears! Do not listen to these people, if there is a way out or compromise TAKE IT! trust me, i had to learn the hard way, with a 25% wage garnishment!

william b.- It may not be because we are debt up to our eyeballs.  It could be like my situation where my jacka$$ ex-husband decided to stop paying on his debt that was ours while together but he took on in the divorce.

All - I contacted my attorney to take care of this matter.  I told him of the threats to freeze my wages and put a judgement on me so that I could not close on my house.  He said that legally there are things that they cannot say or do and this company does not abide by those laws.  This company sucks at looking for people.  They are calling my dad's house in one city looking for me and wanting to serve me papers at my ex-husband's house in an entire different city.  I told them where I live but they still have yet to serve me the papers there either.  My attorney is going to contact them to get the papers served to his office.  Pretty sad that we have to call them to have the damn papers served because they do not have enough sense to have them served to the right place.

Here is the name and address of the company:

    PLG
    31500 Grape St
    Suite 3160-20
    Lake Elsinore, CA 92532

Don't be afraid of these bottom feeding collectors - every voicemail that they have left for me (and most likely you as well) is totally illegal. Get a voice recorder and record every voicemail they leave for you. Make sure you note the date and time of each one. Then contact an FDCPA attorney and see if they recommend recording your phone conversation with them. This will vary depending on which state you live in. If you can do it, call them and record the conversation. If not, call them and take detailed notes. Just don't admit the debt is yours or offer them any payments and you will be fine. Then take your recordings and notes to an FDCPA attorney and sue em!

William B - You got served legal documents from a process server TODAY, and you're already getting a 25% wage garnishment??? That's amazing! I've never heard of a lawsuit being that quick.  Especially since you posted this on May 7th.  Today is May 11th. At the vast majority of companies, any hours you worked on May 7th, you wouldn't even get paid until May 14th.  How do you know your wages are being garnished?

Sorry, your story has too many holes for me to believe.  Do you work for PLG?

This is not a real company!  There are laws that they are not allowed to be rude to you on the phone, and if they ask for anything more than the last 4 digits of your social, they are in huge trouble right there.  Mr. Wayne Allen has called me a few times and told me I have about 13,000 in debt not including the attorney and court fees... but I could pay it off today 700 even... what real company would give you a number like 700 even?  Also, when I finally got to the bottom of it and found the REAL company that had my information, I owe 300!  Wayne Allen is an @ss!

I work at a hospital with recorded phone lines so after two recorded messages, and then a call to my parent's house.  I finally called back recording the conversation in it's entirety.  They went through the usual I'm being or should have been already served papers that I'm being sued blah blah blah and so on so forth.  I did not give them any personal information.  I get my credit report e-mailed to me every month and this company asked to look at it on 8-25-2010, began calling 8-26-2010 to which at the final part of the conversation I would not give this lady who changed her name twice my credit card for a "post dated" withdrawal.  She mentioned several things that they had my bank records my house records etc.  Hmmm I don't own a home and if you have my bank records you should know what my card number is since it's the only card I own for purchases.  I told the lady I would not pay anything until I got something in writing and in turn push the so called server back for 24hrs.  Well Lake Elsinore is in Riverside County and I got in contact with my attorney general and there wasn't anything for me now or in their history of any case pending.  These people are scammers.  Do not by any means give them anything.  They will have information on you, but do not by any means talk to these people unless you can record the conversation, have documents, and seek the proper people to assist you like some of the earlier posts have stated.

The post by tina pegley is probably bogus.  The PLG (Paul Larry Greg) debt collection agency was in California, but the California Attorney General no longer has a good address for them.  I used to practice law and did debt collection.  They called and left a message with personal information for someone I never heard of on my voice mail.  They might as well be the Pud Lout and Goober debt collection agency.

william b. clearly is a PLG stooge.  I knew they were bogus when they left all the information on someone I did not know.  They were threatening to sue (and no one sues over small debts in Texas, since they almost never can be collected).  Willie b, crawl back under your rock.
