There have been MANY BOA scams.  Lurkers should trust only phone numbers available on their BOA paperwork, the BOA card, or the official BOA site.

I got a call from this number. I think this is a scam. I didn't even apply for credit card from BA.

Just barely received a call 4/14/16, 9:53A MDT. Caller ID just says Toll Free Call. I let it go to voicemail. Saw that it was from BoA and I recently did apply for a CC through them, but was still leery. Called the number back - it says: Welcome to Card Services Message Center. To continue Press 1 .... The automated system then found me in their system ( I assume based on the number I called them back on - the same) and asked if I was [my full name] and I pressed 1 to confirm. It connected me with Brandon Groves and he told me he was processing a credit app for [the company I applied through] and that he needed more info. Asked for dob, and I declined because I could not verify it was truly BoA. He was really understanding and directed me to go to bankofamerica.com and look for their credit department phone number so that I could finish my application. I went to their website and looked for Contact Us and called the number for my state. I jumped through the "press this button" hoops then got to Service and was on hold for about 5 minutes. Told the rep the situation and she transferred me to an automated line that asked for my ss# zip and phone# that I put on app. Since I called them and got the number from their actual web site, I trusted it was ok. It then told me my app was under review and I could call back to check the status. Still not sure what the number was to check the status - I think I hung up before giving it a chance to tell me the number. At any rate, if they wanted more information, they didn't ask for it.

This is legit....  Message saying it was "Bank of America with an important message for <name> regarding recent credit card request." (or something to that effect.) They called me twice a day for a few days, I rejected it at first because I didn't apply for a credit card from Bank of America. I pressed "1" to connect to see what it was about (and would have hung up if asked for anything too personal, especially without telling me the subject first). They said it was for a credit card application for Spirit, which I did apply for and had wondered why I didn't hear back yet. Only asked to confirm date of birth and citizenship status.  That was all.

This is a SCAM, they are calling about a credit card application that was never submitted.
Somehow they have the name and phone number we never applied for any Visa Card

It is BOA credit card service, a legitimate call.

Appears to be legitimate. BANK OF AMERICA rep said she wanted to confirm some information regarding a credit card which I had applied for. It turned out to be a Spirit Airlines card which I did apply for.  Since I was uncomfortable giving my info over the phone she was happy to mail the information to me.

I got a phone call from this phone number. They are legitimate BOA because they provided me my information correctly.

Legitimate, since I did apply for the card, and they needed "more information."

However as soon as I called back to this number, for every single day I've been getting spam calls from random numbers, so maybe they give my info out to 3rd party for marketing/ads. Not worth the hassle.

Your post is full of contradictions. You say they're legitimate but may not be BoA. Then  you say your caller was boa? but that it valid. So which is it? And why did you bother looking up the number anyway?

Spam robot called twice in four hours. Asked for data I already gave to Bank Of America for a rewards credit card. Connected to a live person who asked for more data. I asked to be removed from list. Person became agitated and hung up.

I received a call and two text messages from this number and have tried to block it.  Keep in mind that the Bank of America stipulates explicitly on their web site, in the privacy and security zone, that they do NOT call you for these reasons.  They communicate with their customers through the customers' account, online or through the app. Do NOT respond to this call and do NOT give personal information.

This is a legitimate phone number for BofA. Applied for a credit card through a mailed in application. They were missing a few pieces of info that were not personal information like social security number. Finalized the app with the info and said I was approved for the card and should get it in the mail in a few weeks.

Just called Bank of America on their help line and confirmed that it was a legit call. HOWEVER, they did mention that sometimes scammers will spoof their number. But, for my case they were able to prove it was a legitimate call.

I also received the call I was waiting for my credit card application, systems claims that it could not find my name in system and also my phone number, it could not find , I hang up and immediately called BOA they are not helpful

DO NOT TRUST THIS NUMBER!! y’all if you get a call from a number you don’t recognize and they say they are affiliated with or are a company you do your business with, please call that business yourself. I see a lot of people here saying that this number is legitimate. It is not. This morning the number called me, sent me a text saying they were Bank of America, and then called me 2 other times in the afternoon.  They texted me about a request, yet I didn’t request anything. Thought it was fishy so I   talked to both the credit card and debit card branches and they confirmed that they did not reach out to me. They also confirmed that if they were to reach out to me, it would not be through a phone call/very unlikely. So please be careful out there and NEVER call back a number you are suspicious about. Just call their confirmed number and verify it there. Plus, most actual important phone calls will end with a voicemail.
