Got call from stark recovery threathing me that if i dont pay i will be arrested either at my job or my home it a scam because stark recovery called me another day from agent sharon cater and said same thing

Scam!! Claims we took out an online payday loan. When I started making threats to call the police, the lady hung up on me.

Called me asking for moneygram payment. SCAM STAY AWAY

Some man called my phone saying I took out a payday loan back in 2013, which I never did, he started threatening me!!

This number has called my phone twice now and my mom's phone once stating they had a claim against me for taking out a non-existent $300.00 loan in 2013 which I now owe them $2,000.00 for with lawyer fees and court costs along with many other threatening comments...Funny, considering I've never heard of this until recently. These people seriously have nothing better to do with their time than harass people. I'd love to personally meet the guy who keeps calling my phone. I've since cancelled my bank account and got a new one just in case this scum has my information. I'd love to personally meet these people...

This company keeps calling me, family members and my workplace claiming I owe money - which I do not.  I am not sure how to get them to quit calling but it is a scam

Do not respond to a company called STARK.  They try to threaten you and tell you that you owe money to them when it actually is a SCAM!  I've reported this company and my next plan of action is to report them to further authorities.  Its best to put a fraud alert on your credit report, change your credit card or account numbers and put alerts on your credit report & bank account to notify you of any suspicious activity.  I've also signed up for Life Lock to protect my identity seeing that they had my Social Security Number.  I simply told them to send any documents they want to threaten me with to my home and I will happily bring it to court.  Its a complete scam and do NOT let these people try to intimidate you!  I'd recommend letting all friends, family and co-workers know, so they can also report this as well.

this person or company keeps call us and asking for someone who does not live here, it is a recording, so I hang up and add them to my list to have their number blocked but then they call on another line.  If you call them back to tell them they have you number by mistake you can get thru how can you get them from stop calling you.

They called from 866-646-8153 to my cell phone. They left a message to call 866-646-8153 and a 7 digit claim #. When I called the 866-646-8153 number they answered "legal department". I said where is your legal department. They said--STARK RECOVERY. I asked where he or they were licensed to practice law, ans stated that I am a licensed attorney. They hung up.

A "missed" call from 866-716-4494 states to call 866-646-8153. I called 866-716-4494 and it was the same "legal department" for STARK RECOVERY.

This company continues to call me after I told them to proceed with their claim.  I have not received any legal documents from them as of yet.  Not sure if it is still illegal to call a persons place of employment to collect a debt (which I do not owe) but if it is, I will report them.

They tried same thing for 3 days on different numbers-  woman just told me she was calling from the BREAST CANCER PEOPLE- just hung up

I missed a call from this same number today, but actually picked up yesterday when they called.  They said they were from debt recovery and had a claim against me.  Prior to that, I was receiving calls from 866-646-8153 with the same message about a claim against me.  Definitely scammers.  For a legitimate debt, you would receive a letter in the mail, and would not be harassed on the phone and threatened to be arrested.  According to the police where I live, debts are not crimes that you can be arrested for.

Called from 1-866-716-4494, her name was Mrs. Thomas, from oakwood recovery, she said that I took out a loan in 2013 for 300 .00. She needed me to pay this off,I never had a loan, this lady could not even tell me where I was living in 2013. I told her to contact my attorney, who is my brother, she hung up on me. This is a scam do not give no information to these people, tell them to call your attorney.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them .
