- Unserved| 29 repliesSupposedly filing court proceedings against me with the county clerk and IRS (!). The form she claimed she is filing for collection with the IRS is for loan forgiveness. Lots of B.S. Didn't get served with anything, didn't get anything in the mail, so not exactly worried about it.

- noalzheimers| 1 replyGot a call from Brady & Caruso telling me I urgently needed to contact them about a case. This is the same case they have harassed me about over my ex-wife. When I say they, I mean Abrams, Burke & Associates (A.K.A. MARSHALL&ZIOLKOWSKI ENTERPRISE).
I filled a complaint with the better business bureau about Abrams, Burke & Associates (A.K.A. MARSHALL&ZIOLKOWSKI ENTERPRISE). I even filed a compliant with the NY State Attorney General office. So far it hasn't put a dent in their activities.
So are New Yawkuhs really as bad as the rest of the country thinks? They are allowing companies who specialize in the illegal harassment of innocent citizens to flourish in their state. Is this a New Yawk thing or what?
Has anyone tried other legal means? I’m thinking about getting my personal attorney involved. Has anyone written to the NY Times? Especially after Spitzer, they might like a story like this.- Caller: Brady & Caruso
- Very UpsetSomeone keeps calling me regarding a debt that is not even mine! I told them they have the wrong person, but they just kept threatenting me! He said he was an attorney out of Buffallo Ny w/ Brady & Caruso. He was such a rude person and is now harrassing my receptionist and manager! He is also demanding to speak to my HR manager and says he will speak to the payroll department to resolve this debt owed! I really cant believe he continued to th threaten me after I told him he had the wrong person and to discontinue to make threats at my place of business/work! Called about 4-5 times back to back! He is claiming that the person he is looking for has a pending case with my county and that it will be resolved with or without my cooperation.
I responded that I refused to discuss a debt that was not mine, that I wa not verifying my social with someone that I didn't know, That I didn't know who the creditor was, and that I would relay the message to the receptionist incase their was another person that this call was intended for. He said I was trying to say that I wasn't who I was. I told him- I told you my name, but you clearly have the wrong person. I do not have this debt, and refuse to discuss someone elses account.
This guy better stop harrassing me and my employers!
I used to work for a repo company and we would say anything to get the creditor to pay up or diclose the information we needed! DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFO TO THIS GUY! DO NOT SPEAK TO HIM ABOUT ANYTHING AND DONT LET HIM PUSH YOU INTO A CONVERSATION THAT SHOULDNT BE TAKING PLACE AT YOUR WORK PLACE TO BEGIN WITH! BY LAW IF YOU TELL THEM TO CEASE CALLS- HE HAS TO STOP. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!- Caller: Brady & Caruso
- WhoAreThesePeople| 8 repliesHey folks – I got the call from the same people who obviously use several different names (Brady & Caruso, Abrams, Burke and Assoc, Marshall Ziolkowski enterprises, ING Island National Group and Kingman Cole). I learned that these people are doing highly illegal things. My husband called the FBI to report them because they are trying to collect money from unsuspecting people whether its true or not. They called me and threatened me to lien my mortgage, car, and other things and I laughed and said I don’t even own a house and my car was paid off years ago. The woman (called herself Ms. Johnson) was extremely rude and when I asked her who she represented, she wouldn’t even give me that information. I just happened to call back the number on the caller ID and sweet talked the person who answered for the name. If you get called from ANY of these people, call the BBB in both your state and NY, the Federal Trade Commission, State Bar in NY, FBI as well as the States Attorney General in both states. I have combined all the information I could possible find for you. Good luck and don’t give up. They should be locked up!!!! Here are the three address’ so you can send those letters to all of them:

- English replies to WhoAreThesePeople| 6 repliesHad the same experience. Already filed with BBB, FTC and in process with Atty Gen. Sent validation letter got no response. I want to contact FBI need. I have alot to tell them. These people need to be stopped. We were threatned and we panicked and gave them $3,000.00 long story. I've been fighting this for months need help. Can you give me FBI info. Thanks
- Almost Taken In| 2 repliesOMG, I can't believe I almost fell for this too. A guy by the name of "Seth" called me, says he represents the offices of Brady & Caruso based out of Buffalo, NY. He claims that I owed a debt for a Visa card by Household Bank/Orchard Bank in the amount of $2500. He said the account was opened in 1999 and payments had stopped being made on the account in 2003. I told him that I never opened such an account and that the debt was not mine, but he insisted that it was opened with my social security number and regardless the debt was in fact mine and if I didn't take care of this today he would tell his superior and they would go forward, which would mean that I would get a summons delivered by a Sheriffs Officer and would have to go to court before the judge and have to pay probably close to $5000 for legal and court fees. He was extremely intimidating and as a single mother, I was upset. He said that they were willing to settle the debt for a mere $1400 if I could make arrangments to pay it off; to which he wanted routing number and banking account number with a post dated check for two payments to be taken out of my account. When I questioned him about certain things that he should have had right in front of him and when he said that he would "get back to me", that prompted me to call my bank. When I did, and told her the jist of what had just occurred, she told me that it was a scam and to come in right away and close the account. Luckily I did, thanks to her, and I am all the wiser for it. I then did a Brady & Caruso search and a reverse number search and found this info. I know some of you are saying..what is she thinking giving her info over the phone like that. Well, I know that there are those of us out there who have given such info over the phone before to make a payment for something and things have been on the up and up. I didn't think that this could be a scam..in fact, I'm still shaking because it just happened this afternoon and I now realize how close I was to having my account cleared out. I will never do another payment over the phone again.

- English replies to Almost Taken In| 1 replyyou need to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau , Atty General NY and Federal Trade Commission. The more complaints keep piling up maybe finally someone will do something about these scam artists. I'll never give up. I plan to get the media involved too. I'm glad you didn't lose any money like us. We put ours on a credit card and within the hour we cancelled it after red flags appeared and did some research on computer. Our credit card eventually released them the money said we couldn't cancel it. Now we have a battle on our hands. We went to an atty he advised us to sue them which we are doing. Getting a judgement will be easy, collecting the money on judgement will be a battle I feel. We won't give up.
- Almost Taken In replies to EnglishThat's exactly what I'm in the process of doing English. I'm so sorry to hear that you were taken for that money and I'm pulling for you that you get your money back. What a hassle eh? I already filed a complaint with the BBB and the next step is the Atty General and FTC. Somebody has to sit up and take notice with this.
- BajachrisThese people called my 89 y.o. father's house (Contact # from years ago) and threatend him if he did not give out my personal contact info. He was a nervous wreck thinking I was in some sort of trouble. They are horrible nasty people and I guess that is how people are in New York. However, they have NO LEGAL way of collecting on a valid or unvaild debt from another state. They are all full of B.S. and should be dismissed and hung up on. There are statue of limitation laws in ALL 50 states. These jerks are making last minute efforts to try and collect knowing the debt will fall off the credit reports and they get NOTHING> Everyone who receives a call should notify the telephone company and file charges against these BOZO'S.

- jcam7Got a call today, from Frank Lucas of Brady, Caruso, and Associates. Claimed to be Brady & Caruso lawfirm in the county I live in. He spoke very well, but did get aggressive. I was threatened with papers served to my employment by the police, calls to my supervisor, forms sent to the irs, recorded phone call to the magistrate, etc... He did not want to get off the phone without getting some kind of payment info (mastercard, anything), so during one of his threats I just hung up. Luckily, I had a recent credit report and looked to find the account he referenced. It's not there. Although I had used the company years ago, it never had a credit line near the amount he was asking for. Sounds like a scam to me. Although they are VERY aggressive and verbally assertive, I'm going to ingore them. Google the phone numbers and names - alot of stuff out there on this outfit.

- jesi have recently come home to find messages on my answering machine from brady & caruso. the messages include a case number and a phone number, but they do not address the person in which they are trying to reach. since i get collection calls for my ex-husband of two years ago frequently, i ignore those messages, as most people looking for me call my cell phone. anyway, today my boyfriend asked me if i was being sued. i said, "not that i know of." he said that he had heard something to that effect on the answering machine the other day. i then listened to the messages to find one from, you guessed it, brady & caruso. this time they stated my name, the case number, and said i had until may 27 to contact them. they said that, "the offices of brady & caruso have been instructed to commence with the lawsuit without further delay"...and "assets, financial information, and employment information are now being reviewed". after hearing that message, i decided to look them up online...only to find this b&c bashing page...i thank you all. i guess i will now ignore this message instead of worry about it. i am from texas, and they are from new york...is that right? is it true that i need to report them to the bbb in both states? and the attorney general in texas? i found all of their messages a little far-fetched since i didn't receive anything in the mail (certified or otherwise) from them. not to mention, in the messages, they never mentioned who or what i was being sued for. i guess the word "sued" is their scare tactic. good luck all and thanks for the info. oh, and they called from an "out of area" number, not the "866" number that they left on the messages for me to call back...so watch out for that too.
come to think of it...i remember a long time ago getting calls from a seth at abrams, burke, & assoc. too. i guess when they get your number, they try anyway they can to get you. beware.- Caller: brady & caruso

- Dee Dee| 1 replyLeft message about me being named as a defendent in a court case. No case # (of course not it is not true) So I called back. Got a woman and she asked me to hold for one of the senior partners. He started in about this and that and got me very upset and said he had my social number and could see what was available in my bank acct. I flipped out on him. Said I needed to contact my atty he then said give me their name I will contact them and inform them you are being taken to court.
Started talking about having to appear in court here in my county.. I realized I had my computer on and asked again the law firm which he told me and typed in google and got this site plus many others. I then asked so you are a lawyer and he said yes I am one of the senior partners in Brady and Caruso.......this is nuts so I told them to fax their offer to my work and I would review it. I am going to contact my atty and let them know that these people are posing as lawyers.- Caller: Brady and Caruso
- Dissed Veteran| 8 repliesMy wife recieved a call from Danille representing Brady & Caruso claiming a 6 year old debt, wanting access to checking account, she fell for it. When she told me, I called, they refused to send a bill or any documentation, or accept a check, only wanting access to checking account. I told him no and he threatend me with legal action. I told him to take a long walk on a short pier, that it would be a cold day in hell before he got any money. I reported it to local sheriff's Dept. and cancelled wife's checking account. No money gone and no call back yet, but Im ready to go off if they do call back.

- TCI received a message from Brady and Caruso 6-20-08, they told me that I had a pending summons from Orchard Bank/HSBC that was in 2003. He said they were accusing me of Fraud and that I needed to settle with them ASAP. This should have been a reg flag for me, because this account was charged off and since then Orchard Bank/HSBC has issued me 2 new credit limits. The old account was included in a old Bankruptcy. They try to be smooth talkers, and they are very covincing, I have always been very careful not to give out any info over the phone, but they caught me off guard. I should have known better but gave them my checking acct no and later went on line and saw that the people were posing as attorneys. These people need to be stopped.
The man Posing to be a "Robert Schmidt, Legal Assistant" For this firm.
And the name on my answering machine was posing as a "joel Silver, ATTORNEY." I hope these people get caught and get locked up for good.
If they do this, there capable of anything!!! New York's General Attorney should get off his but and do something about this. And check out these phone numbers there using. That should be a start!- Caller: Brady and Caruso

- 18667170360These guys have been hassling me as well. They said I owed money on a credit card that I've never owned. They also tried to pass themselves off as lawyers, and advised that I pay several grand to settle everything with the bank. I asked for a case #, name of judge, anything and they totally sidestepped the questions. These guys are definite scam artists and major [***].
- RabbitsheriffYep more of the same for me. Have been getting harassing calls from these folks in regards to an old Providian account charged off in April of '05. Thank goodness statute of limitations in NC is 3 years. They called me and left a message stating he needed to speak with me before I go to court. Also called my mom and told her he would be sending the Sheriff of my Co. out to my house if I didn't call back!! I called to tell him to FOAD and he stated he had to file papers on Monday. I advised I wouldn't be able to repay the debt and he said why not, you have over $1000 in your bank account. I laughed because it is currently in the negative until I get paid tomorrow. Anyways, he asked how much I could give I stated $100, he laughed and said if I was gonna act so nonchalantly about this prepare to go to court and hung up. He got a little upset when I told him never to call my mom again. OH well, off to report to BBB, FTC and State attorney generals office, cheers!

- BRADY| 17 repliessmall piece of advice. its not a scam. it is an attorney office. however... its a collection agency.. the money is owed and its a legitimate business. they are not going to take extra money put of your accounts and they are not going to do anything with your money except apply it to your biull. pull your credit reports!! the debt is there. give them a break. they have a job to do. some people are going to be rude but not everyone is like that when doing the job they are suppose to do. QUIT BEING DEADBEATS AND PAY YOUR BILLS OR TAKE THE TIME TO PROVE IT ISNT YOURS!!!!
- payurbil replies to Unserved| 25 repliesthat is not fair that you post negative comments about a place, then you delete the truth about the agency. brady and caruso is a legitimate firm, and they simply try to give people the opportunity to pay legitimate debt.
