The caller knew who she was looking for but did not tell me how she knew accept that they go way back.and the number she was calling from was her number.(the caller)

This number called me at work and knew who he was looking for too but left a message saying it was an important business matter.

Lady called asking for a specific person in my house.  I told her that was my mom and she wasn't available and asked if I could take a # and message.  She said I sounded to old be that person's daughter and she had some good news she needed to give but refused to give me anything but her name.

I'm on the phone with them right now - their company name is Financial Assets Management Systems (a bogus, pompous name if I ever heard one).  The woman on the other end claimed she doesn't have anything that shows our number as having been called, that it may have been dialed in error, and that their company deals with getting references for past employees.  We shall see...

I recieved a phone call yesterday, a guy named Chris left a message, referencing the above phone number.  He said I needed to call him back because he was from the EDD and wanted to know if an employee worked for me, so that he can issue a wage garnishment.  When I called back it was the Financials Assets Management company that answered.

i work for them, (the three offices are atlanta st. louis and portland or it is a legit company and if you google it all your questions will be answerd...    all it takes is like... 30 seconds of research

we dont leave info about why were calling because it's against FEDERAL LAW and telling you why im calling just to make you happy is not worth loosing my job over,       3rd party disclosure ppl,   fdcpa

all of our info is given to us by the us government, it's information YOU provided to the government, they assign us these accounts, we are a receivables management company,   none of the information comes from "purchased lists"  and we dont sell ANYTHING,

and we have NOTHING to do with cars,  most the ppl i call dont even own cars, or own real pos's

The call I got from this number was regarding a delinquent student loan.  This is a legit co, collecting $$$ that is due to them.

I've had 3 calls from these bottom feeders all looking for someone w/my name (very common name). They have my correct birth year but the rest of my personal info IS WRONG. They are a COLLECTION AGENCY on a fishing expedition. Please share w/Jerry your displeasure at their harrassing calls:

are you kidding!!!  it's amazing, the UNITED STATES FEDERAL GOVERNMENT treats us VERY well!!!    we are simply the tool used to recover stolen funds from the government...

yeah, call jerry, let him no how were NOT violating FDCPA,  how were perfectly within the rules set to us by the federal government,   that'll be fun,

Good forum . . . . to LX and the employee of FAMS -  thanks for the company info. Normally I just ignore toll free calls, but in this case - a collection agency- I wanted to get my name off their list. I have no delinquent loans and wanted to make that clear.  My call was handled quickly and courteously.  Seems like they're just doing their job.

These guys are precious.  Equating someone who gets behind on their student loans to steeling money from the government.  Wow, never thought of collection agents as crime fighting superheroes.  Whatever it takes for you to sleep I suppose.
