If you receive a call from this number, do not give them your informations.  It is a fraud and I have reported them to wachovia and to the authorities, they are under investigations.  When they know that you are unto them, they blocked your number just so your calls don't come through to them.

I work for Wachovia and I had a client get a call from this number.  It is fraud without a doubt, please do not give information to anyone from this number.  I called it personally and can assure you that we would never ask a customer for their account number on an outbound call.

If you get a call that doesn't seem legitimate, please call your local branch or 1-800-WACHOVIA for verification.

I got a call 2 days ago and I was in the CALL CENTER industry for 10 yrs.  The number we call them back on is an 800# where the call is directed to their FAKE: Deposit Recovery Department.  I was transferred 4 times to the real Wachovia and while I DO have a new account with them, I NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS OVER THE PHONE ANY MORE...as a result of this and harassing calls from people trying to collect on a debt that is in MY DAD's NAME!!!

These are all scammers.  I NOW say the following:" I DO NOT CONDUCT FINANCIAL [LEGAL MATTERS] OVER THE PHONE.  IF YOU WOULD BE SO KIND AS TO SEND ME YOUR REQUEST IN WRITING, I WILL BE HAPPY TO REPLY BACK TO YOU IN WRITING AS WELL.  THANK YOU....NOW, GOOD BYE".  I say this in a very calm, monotone voice and EVEN IF THEY TRY TO INTERRUPT ME, I plow on through and immediately HANG UP!  THe last word on their recording if it EVER is a REAL deal, will end up being what a Judge will hear YOU saying...so Don's sweat calls like this...THEY are the ones who are NOT going to get the information they WANT if we all band together and send this along to let people know if the various FINANCIAL scams going on due to this current economic climate...BE CAREFUL MY FRIENDS OF PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY WANT TO HELP YOU AND THEY END UP RIPPING YOU OFF COMPLETELY!

This number has called me several times. I called the number back and she said she needed to verify my information. I proceeded to tell her that I would not give her my information over the phone and asked what was the nature of her call. She then told me that she could not disclose any information until I verified my information with her first. I called Wachovia the day before when I first got this phone call and the rep told me this was not a Wachovia number. I then informed her that I know you are not Wachovia because I called them and verified the number. I three wayed  the woman on the phone and wachovia. Wachovia verified that this number is right because she was able to give her"A" number and also her supervisors name. I also went into a branch and gave them the number and they came back with the same response. They were able to verify her "A number and also her supervisor. Apparently whenever you get an overdraft wachovia is now calling to verify your information. They also told me that they want to make sure they have the correct information for all of their accounts so this new department has been set up to do so. I still don't think this is legitimate. The best thing I can tell you guys to do is to go to a Wachovia branch and have them research it in front of you. What I don't understand is why this new department was set up yet no one in the company was aware of it.

Received several calls to my cell phone from this number over the last couple of days.  IT IS NOT WACHOVIA BANK AS THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO REPRESENT.  THIS IS A SCAM!  The caller, a woman, repeatedly asked that I return her call.  When I finally did, she answered (laughing noises in background) and requested my name and account number--I DON'T THINK SO!!  I said I wasn't comfortable giving out this information over a blind telephone call--she laughed and said, "well then, I guess this is when I just say " have a nice day" and hang up the phone"--which she did quickly!  SCAM!  Please report this number to whomever necessary, and NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION OVER THE TELEPHONE.

had this happen today. Had just woken up, and didn't think twice since I just completed a wire transfer a few days before. I called wachovia after and the rep said everything was ok. She called the number herself verified the person's "A" number and supervisor.
Still not satisfied..I called wachovia again and just closed my accounts for safe measure. Lesson learned either way.

I just got a scam call from this number also. The guy said he was Paul from Wachovia and I asked for his number to call him back and he gave me 866-221-6020. He said when I called back that I would not get him and ask for customer service. The concerning thing is that he knew my name and number.

This is fraud - dont give any info!!!!!!!!!!!!
