This is a scam phone number claiming to be from the irs but they're not. Do not give any info or money to these fraudsters. Call your local police.

Brad Nelson claiming to be a police officer gave me his alleged Badge Agent ID # 50991. Stated he's from IRS threatening to turn you over to local authorities if you don't pay thousands of dollars immediately because of purposeful tax fraud. It's rediculous ... we use a repretable CPA firm to file. Told me not to talk to anyone else but him. His direct # 866-746-7199. The number they called from is 877-705-0296 or 877-705-0256. Said he is directly from the IRS headquarters at Washington, DC in the Tax Audit Dept. and it was a Dispute Category Case.
He wouldn't provide any written proof... he only said he will provide a receipt confirming the payment has been paid in full after the payment is made and the supposedly judgement will be dismissed and void off record. Had a heavy Indian accent with an American name.
This call was a THREAT!  Call the police

I got the calls and the messages are about IRS tax auditor with heavy Indian accent. They asked to me call 866-746-7199. thank you for sharing it and I will call police.

The caller ID said private caller. I picked up the phone and the person he was looking for wasn't available so I told him to give me his number. He gave me this number. He had an Indian accent and claimed to be from the IRS.

Got a similar call today

Just got a call from a man with a very heavy Indian accent claiming to be Mike Larry from the IRS. He asked to speak to my wife and I refused to let him talk to her. Asked him what the call was in reference to. He said he could not give me any information about the call and for her to call him back on phone number 866-746-7199 about an urgent matter.

Caller left a voice mail.  Heavy Indian Accent.  Said he was "Chris Wright."  Said something about charges against our SSN and criminal charges.  Then said we had to call him at 866-746-7199 and that failure to do so would result in serious legal problems and affect our credit.  Verizon reported the caller's number as 220-657-4990.

Got 2 message calls today from someone with a heavy indian accent.  He threatened me with some sort of legal action if i didn't call him back within 2 hours. the number was 866-746-7199.  This is the first time i ever got a call like this.   Thank God for this blog.............

Said he was with the criminal division of irs and legal action was being taken against us for defrauding the IRS said he was nick anderson I asked for him to send his documentation and he said he would! I have no doubt that i will never receive anything.  he didn't even as for my address as I figure he realized his game was up.  Verizon showed the number he was calling from as being646-560-4498.  I tried calling this number out of curiosity and got a recording stating it was a non working number.  Imagine that.

I received a call from this number.   Man with thick Indian accent claiming to be from IRS fraud department and he says his name is Nick Anderson .  Talks like he has marbles in his mouth.  Definitely a scam.

"Nick Anderson" actually didn't have marbles in his mouth, it was camel dung.

Just received a call from "Greg Larson"....via (Voice Mail)....supposedly from the [I. R .S]
Said I owed money to IRS , said I would Suffer Great Consequences if I did Not Respond within
2 Hours......You can barely understand him.....Extremely thick Acent.....sounded Asian to me.....
the phone number on my caller id said. (913) 994-2676......When I called it back, it stated that this # is not in service....(913)area codes are from Florida{The phone # he left to return his call ASAP ,was 1(866)746-7199 x5001}....I reported this Scam to the Real IRS....they said they were already awhere of this Scam.......DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY YOUR INFO...MONEY...OR ANYTHING !!

Received a message on my machine claiming they were going to file criminal charges against our social security number if we didn't call back immediately.  His accent was so thick, I didn't think he was speaking English at first.  Very threatening message.  I called the number and told the guy he was a fake and he started using the most VULGAR language.  I laughed and told him he was being recorded.  What a jerk and crappy scammer!  Will be calling from a variety of phones to HARRASS HIM and will report him for impersonating a Federal Agent.  

"Officer" Brad Nelson (#50991) called with a thick accent saying it was from the IRS tax audit in Washington DC. His caller ID was blocked but he asked me to call back 866-746-7199.
He had my name and wife's name and address, but no tax ID,
Threatened to send agents for an arrest if I did not call back!
Where should we report this number?

8-18-14 received a voice mail as well from a man with a thick accent saying he was from IRS internet division and that if I did not call back he would take legal action.  So glad I found this site after researching because it seemed very suspicious since he didn't know my name.  Called local PD and was told this is a major scam that they receive calls daily.  Don't call them back or give out any information.

Got this one too total scam. IRS would not call or threaten you they would send you written notice of an audit!

I got the same call on 8/17/14. What a sleezebag. I want to find people like this just to give him the same scare he gave me, plus some. Instead, I'm calling Police and FBI.

Got the same message from the same number 866 746 7199. Heavy Indian accent, hardly could understand him.

Just received a call from this number. Person identified themselves as "Jim Carter," an "Officer with the IRS". His English was so poor I could barely understand him. When I questioned his identity and asked him to put his supervisor on the line (because I was having so much difficulty understanding him), he became angry and threatened to send the police to my address. Because the call was going nowhere (I refused to answer his questions), I hung up. He then immediately called back with more threats regarding a "legal issue" involving "unpaid income tax". Seems to me that impersonating an IRS officer should be some kind of crime.
