Comcast technician line. May be an independent contractor?

I've confirmed this is Comcast Cable.  They called repeatedly never leaving a voicemail.  After seeing this site, I accepted the call.

Just like 'big daddy k', I kept getting empty calls.  Comcast confirmed their "dialer" was messed up and kept calling people erroneously when they were scheduled to have service done...  I called the number back -- all is well in the world again.

I was getting the call about 6 times an hour.  I finally found this site, so I called back it was comcast, they said their dialer was having issues leaving messages on voicemail.  Due to this it would keep calling.  All is well now that I called back and told them to take my number out of the dialer.

got several calls from this number about my scheduled appointment for a tec to come out and fix my cable.  i must say these people were a lot more helpful than whoever i reach whenever i first call to report a problem.  in fact they actually solved one of my issues regarding the comcast remote and my television.  after all our complaints they must be hiring some decent people.  amen . . . for now.

Caller is from Comcast and was calling to confirm my appointment for the next day.

Kept getting calls from this number that Comcast wanted to come perform service.  I called Comcast back directly at 1-800-comcast....they had NO RECORD of anyone trying to contact me.  I still consider this number shady and I would wary of accepting any service.

Absolutely shady, they called my girlfriend to try and set up service for her internet. Telling the police or maybe I'll set up a "visit" and take care of these creeps myself...

Got a call tonight from this number saying I had an upcoming appointment.  Called Comcast . . . they said it was NOT one of their numbers
