It started out using a third party calling system and wanting to order 6,000 dollars worth of Caterpillar engine parts. The first concern was them not worrying about the mark up charges. The email address that they gave me was dieselheavytech@yahoo.com. The name that they were using was Monica Cole.

I also rec'd a relay call this am followed by faxes from 866-756-6220. $7000
worth of cat parts. Hate to lose this sale. How did yours turn out?

She forwarded an email to our parts department and our parts department was already aware of the scam. Monica called back again and tried to get an order placed. Obviously, we are not having communication with her.

I also received a relay call using this fax number (866-756-6220).  The email i have been given is icontech@earthling.net.  The name on the email is Mike Helton.  The request is for some caterpillar engine parts.  I have had this type of call before so it was easy to spot what was happening.  If a person in the USA is calling across the country to order parts that can be picked up locally, then is the time to ask lots of questions.

Same as everyone else, 3rd party call. Fax came from DIESEL OVERHAUL from MIKE HELTON. Email provided in fax was: ICONTECH@Earthling.net. The end of the email: Earthling.net isn't even an internet proivder. It is a website asking you if you ant to make it a website!!! With fax # 866-756-6220. Asking for Cat & other heavy equipment parts. Did not transfer to my parts depratment. Had them send me the request so I could verify information befroe wasting my parts department's time.

I wish these people would not waste our valuable time in this tough economy.

We have been getting the same phone call from Mike Helton. We asked for a copy of ID and credit card for the sale. He said he only had a passport. I decided to look up the fax number and I stumbled on this page. Beware this is a scam. Two years ago the same thing happened to us and when we tried to process payment, Visa contacted up and told us the credit card was reported stolen. A $7,000 sale sounds too good to be true.... because it is!!!

He has contacted us at least 5 times this week! Both myself & my parts department. UGH! This is frustrating. Faxed me again with the same information as last time. 866-756-6220 as the fax # & ICONTECH@EARTHLING.NET for the email. Same name on the bottom of the fax Mike Helton.

We have sold parts to this company $5000 worth, called again today to purchase another $8000 with credit cards, putting $1000 on different cards

We just recieved the same call but they are now using the name Kurt Busch

Just got this call this morning Kurt Busch just faxed me a request. What exactly is the scam?

I had one of these calls this morning.  It was an operator assisted call.  I thought it was suspicious from the start, especially when I got the fax and he was using the name Kurt Busch.  So, I did some research and couldn't trace the fax# 866-704-5271 that he gave me or 866-756-6220 Diesel Overhaul that it showed coming from.  That's when I printed a report from my fax and saw that it actually came from 650-655-6633.  The provider is Pacific Bell in San Monteo, CA.  When I had our parts department call to get the quote this guy requested, the actual Caterpillar dealer said to beware!  So I did some more research and found this site.  Who can we report this to?

I got another 3rd party call today from our friend 'Kurt Busche'.  I decided it would be best just to tell him we couldn't get the parts, he may want to check with his local dealer.  The operator said he just hung up.  Maybe he won't call back.  I just wish there was someway to trace this person down and put a stop to his mess once and for all.

We received the same calls in the past 2 days, told the 3rd party it was a scam and we won't except anymore calls.

Kurt???  is still at it looking for parts and pretending to be a company in NC.   Did some research on the net because it seemed too strange.  Came across this page. What a scam..... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

We have tried to screen these relay calls and have not been able to stop them. According to the 3rd party and (TDD relay agent) it is illegal to refuse these calls per the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Has anyone had any success with stopping these calls?

Someone made a call with the AT&T Relay Service when you get calls from this service. They are looking for Cat & Cummins equipment parts. We get a few calls every single month or so, useually from the same guy, Mike, but this time it is from Kurt!! He faxes & emails us too, but it almost 99.999999% of the time is a SCAM! These calls are usually scams. They are supposed to be from people who are deaf, but people scam them. It is a terrible shame that this service is abused. This time Kurt's fax had thesame email address as listed in previous reports: ICONTECH@EARTHLING.NET his fax # is 866-704-5271 & the business name on the fax is General Diesel.

Call came in this time on relay Number 800-855-0000.

Ya were actually did the first order for her we just found out today about the scam she is doing when her card declined on a 9000.00 dollar parts order
