Just got a call at 8:07 this morning, but I was still asleep so I didn't answer. No message was left.

It's the American Red Cross calling for blood donations

Called at 0500 on a Saturday morning, they hung up when I answered.  Called the number back and got an American Red Cross voicemail.

Bunch of vampires!  Not sure if this trick will work, but you can answer with the name of the city for your area code followed by "police department."

Yes it is American Red Cross calling for Blood Donations. It is a worthy cause and many blood banks are running very low on all types of blood. Before you or a family member may need blood for planned or unplanned medical treatment, please make a donation. I am a 2 Gallon Donor and it has served me well in my needs too.

I get these all the time. They call at all times of the day and night, and never leave messages.
If they left a message like they used to do people would not think it so annoying.

Have someone complain and that WILL get you arrested for impersonating. Claiming something like this is VERY illegal.

I asked them that once.  The caller said more people agree to donate when they talk to a real persons.  

I have found a sure-fire way to get rid of them.  The minimum time beteween donations is 8 weeks.  They typically call at about 7-8 weeks.  So I go on line at 6 weeks and schedule my next donation.  They haven't called me in a couple of years.

If that doesn't appeal to you answer them once and tell them to stop calling. They'll probably do it.  The don't want to alienate potential donors.

2nd call in two days.  No message left.  Don't appreciate these calls.

Its the red cross, i live in PA and in our State the Red Cross says you can't donate within a year of receiving a Tattoo in PA. So I constantly tell them I got a tattoo, and it gets them off my back for a year
