I googled this number as it was ringing on my cell phone, and apparently this is the number you can call to make a donation over the phone for the WA State Patrol Troopers Association!! check the link below and scrool down on the page:

So, I guess they are calling people to ask for money! What a joke, the make enough $ pulling people over for stupid reasons. Oh, and my # is registered on the national do not call list, but "fundraisers" are exempt from that :(

I get these guys showing up on my phone constantly, and they don't quit even after promissing to remove my number.

The website is cheesy looking, at best.  No SSL certificate, so no verification of their bona fides there, and they're asking for donations via PayPal, so they haven't had the basic screening it takes to get a legit merchant account.

A quick look at the website registration and Google Street View shows what appears to be a house there.  It is in Olympia and it is close to the state capitol, and there's a sign out front that I can't read, so it's just *maybe* legit, but I wouldn't place any money on it.

so I guess the group behind the local number 253-946-4411 is Orion Industries.  Not sure if they disclose the true amount your dollars benefits the WSP...no surprise

Washington State Patrol Troopers Association.  Caller was polite and professional, i.e. he took "no" for an answer when I explained that "We don't donate over the phone." ;-)
(He seemed to be using some sort of voice-controlled microphone that introduced a weird delay between my questions and his answers.  El Cheapo telemarketing software, maybe.)

Your donations enrich the call center crooks who run this scam, police get nothing.

These clowns are an embarrassment to real law enforcement.  NEVER GIVE THEM MONEY.

I actually work for these guys, and to set the record straight it's not a scam.
the WA state troopers pay us a flat fee per month and no matter how much money we get in donations, it all ends up going to the troopers. The money doesn"t even come through our call center.
We actually have WA state trooper Ray Moss pay us an occasional visit. Look him up...

They are relentless! They call and claim you or your spouse has made a pledge whether or not it is true and when asked to be removed from calling list,they don't. Not sure whether it is a scam or not, but I certainly do not like their relentless nature. Around Christmas time last year they called RE: our supposed pledge, I told the guy, we couldn't afford it because we were expecting another baby in a few months and he straight copped an attitude and was like "Why did you pledge $?" then and told me I need to send the pledge kit back for ppl who are gonna use it!"

I have my number on the do not call list.  It seems there are associans out there trying to raise donations that can't read or follow simple instructions.  After about the third call I answered, and politly requisted I be removed from there call list.  Today I refused to answer the calls which began coming on my cell phone

My husband has donated in the past, and this is a legit organization.  However, since we have had to cut back (like most of us) and are also keenly aware of the current climate where fraud has become the norm -- we are scrutinizing our donation activity carefully.  Here's what I tell ANY organization -- and it's true:  "I know you'll understand when I ask that you send any materials to the address you have on file.  In this day and age of fraudulent fundraising, we no longer do any donating over the phone."  The reputable organizations will then state our current address so we can verify.  No further pushing.  If any organization pushes for a phone donation after you've told them this -- simply hang up and add their number to your blocked call list (if you have it available).  Hope this helps!

I always get calls from this number.  I've asked them now (very nicely) to take me off of their call list 3 times and each time they stop the calls for about a month and then they start again.  I'm all for donating (if you mail me something), but they will not stop with the calls!

Got a call to my cell which is listed on the do not call registry.  Did not answer and no voice mail message left.    Perhaps its time to report complaints to DNC people as their registry appears to NOT be WORKING...so very frustrating:(

Well Bree next time we call ( if we do ) if you ask us to send you something in the mail we will do so but you gotta let us know this and not just hang up on us so your call doesn't get dispositioned as a "hang up". Those calls just get cycled back into the dialer

The DNC list is for all SALES calls.....It does not apply to non profit organizations that a registerd with the Secretary of State

Orion is a non profit organization in Federal Way that the Troopers Association uses for their community outreach programs. Orion mission is to help ppl with disabilities become employable through Job training and Job placement.

The Troopers are running a typical self serving "charity" just like the police, firefighters, and gov't employees who like being called heroic.  The Washington State Sec. of State's website has all registered charities and financial info, it can be eye opening.   The bottom line is don't give to paid fundraisers calling for shameful organizations.

I am on the DO NOT CALL list and yet you keep calling us, please do not call us anymore

I have gotten a call once a day from this number for the past year.If this is the state troopers i am going to be upset.I gave money to them once and they said they would give me a packet or something.Never did.Then every three months someone will call and actually answer.I have told the person to quit calling.Plus they are very rude.So much for the Do Not Call  List!
