- MJ| 1 replyI received a call from this number, but was told to call this number and ask for Mr. Russell. I supposedly entered a contest to win a Ford Explorer. (Which is possible, because I had been searching for cars and visited various Ford dealership websites checking what was on their lots.) I will not call the number back since it was placed from the number I was asked to call. When I wrote down the number I never thought to check my caller ID to see what the number the caller was using. {In fact I only answered the phone because I was expecting a call from my daughter, who is currently out of the country.}
- LS replies to MJI just got the same call telling me I had won a ford explorer or one of four other prizes. I was told to call Mr. Russell at 1-866-770-8762. The caller ID had the number 312-546-4457. I did not enter a contest, however, she did have my address (spooky). The call was on Jan 2nd, 2012. I am not going to reply.
- Mr Z.Thanks To everyone who posted here about # 1-866-770-8762. I have been receiving calls from the debt collector NCO Financial for quite a while so it makes perfect sense that it is them. The women who called had my name, phone number and my home address. She said that drawing I entered was officially over and my ticket number was a winner for the Ford Explorer or " other prizes" and I should call my prize director as soon as possible. I do not want an Explorer and did not enter any contests. Debt collector trying to get a call back makes perfect sense. WOW they are getting dirty!!! Thanks to everyone who posted.

- RCI received an almost identical message to some of those mentioned here (regarding a Ford Explorer contest entered online/officially closed/my entry was selected/etc.). The message was from “Christine” and I was instructed to call the prize director at 866.770.8762. She also gave my name and address (disconcerting). I haven't had any contact with debt collectors or Ford dealerships, so I don't have any clues as to how they got my name and address. After some searching, I found the same phone number listed on a web site for “The Property Management Academy, 659 Maitland Avenue Altamonte Springs, FL 32701”. I’m definitely not returning their call.
- NZSame deal as everyone else above. Some sort of scam, do not call back! Am reporting to the BBB and urge others to do same.

- CC| 1 replyYep! I got the same "you won 1 of 4 prizes...call Mr. Russell at...". When I asked who they were calling for, they said they were with the "marketing company that the contest providers hired to make their notification calls to prize winners." Boy do I feel like a dupe! I believe the company who hired them is Gannett @ 800-695-2005, because they're the only people calling me about an old hospital bill.
- MRYep, I got the same call and was told to ask for Rebecca. Gor the same spiel about winning a Ford Explorer or 1 of three other prizes. She said I'd receive something in the mail in about two weeks telling me what I won. I didn't have to supply any info she didn't already have so I figure it probably didn't hurt to call her back, but you never know do you?
- None of your businessWe got the same call. The voice on the other end sounded identical in both the call received by us, and the return call to "Mr. Russell" at 866-770-8762. Same spiel: " You have won a Ford Explorer, and we would need to go to Branson, MO to pick it up. The time we called back, the girl must have gotten a little confused, because she told me we had won one of 4 prizes.
- SSGosh - feel like a sucker now! Should have googled (and checked this website) before I called the number. And yes, was told the same stuff about calling Mr Bill Russel prize director...
- JMReceived the same call this afternoon from 843-408-4355 from a woman who, like the other commentors, had my name and address. Told to call Mr. Russell at 1-866-770-8762 because I had won one of four prizes, including a Ford Escape (why didn't I get the Explorer?). I could not recall entering any contests. She told me that I had entered a contest in SC, and that Mr. Russell would inform me of the contest sponsor. In my research on toll free numbers, I found the 866 number was assigned to Level 3 Communications. I really thought it was a scam, but now I know for sure.
- nsSame as everyone above,my entery picked as winner, call back, thought was b/s so googled it,glad I did, dont have any outstanding debts so not sure what they want, not going to call back though
- RNI got this same call. I have actually won big prizes from companies and they do not pull this sort of nonsense. I am sure it is a hoax. The girl who called me was obviously reading a teleprompter. IT DID PEAK my interest. I called Mr. Russell back. i was called from a local number 843-408-4355. When u called it back it was good ol Mr. Russell's prize patrol!
- Caller: MR. RUSSELL
- Duped_in_FloridaSame exact scenario. Rec'd a message that I had won a Ford escape or one of three other prizes. I felt it was a scam but we could desperatly use another car and my wife has won some prizes online. The message was to call good old Bill Russell, prize coordinator.
I called back and left a message then Googled and found this site. : (
I hate NCO and their abusive practices. I keep a whistle near the phone so if they call back I'll blow it in the ear of whoever calls. It's also fun to call the corporate office and randomly do it to the receptionist. Mean? No, they don't follow fair collection practices, for example this tactic of lies, and the pattern of harrassing calls. If she doesn't like it she can find another job.- Caller: NCO Financial Systems

I am a fraud investigator (Police Officer) here in Canada and often speak to groups on Internet and phone scams, this exact type of thing. I got this call on the phone at our vacation home in the USA. It came from 843-375-6268 and asked that I call the prize director at 866-770-8762. It was for a Ford Escape.
I know from my work experience that this is an "Advance Fee Fraud Scam" where they will try to dupe you into paying some sort of fee or tax in advance before you can get your prize. You pay the money and never hear from them again, unless they try to double scam you.
Remember the old saying, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.- Caller: No name given

- C Wiersch| 1 reply2/8/2012 I just received a call from Christina Lee saying that I had won an Explorer vehicle from an entry I had made on the internet. I was told to cal the 866 770 8762 number. The caller ID listed the cal as coming from 18433758268

- Grinder replies to C WierschJust got a message from "Diane Foster" that i had won a Ford Escape from an online entry I made. Wrong. Everybody get police whistles and blow out their eardrums.
- anonymous| 2 replies02/09/12 i received a message from "Kristina Lee" about having won either a Ford Escape, 3day 2 night vacation in Mexico, $2500 cash or a 32in. flat screen tv. I called 866-770-8762 and was told Mr. Russell was unavailable, leave a callback # and I would here from someone regarding my prize within 15 min. "Diane Foster" called me back in 1.5 hrs. When I asked the name of the company who sponsored the the contest she said "some international travel company". She then began asking personal questions and when I tried further inquiries of her, she asked if I was forfeiting my prize. I said yes and she said "have a nice day" and hung up.
the caller id # was 843-375-6268. Scam? I believe so after finding this site. Thanks.- Caller: Unknown
- Gearhead| 2 repliesGot the same call. Googled it here and after reading the messages, did not attempt to call back. It has all the ingredients for a "scam". I did not enter a contest and I would remember if I did. I'm not a Ford fan anyway but you can bet they are not giving away Ford Explorers.
Not too long ago, I received a call like this from England saying a friend of mine was in Jail and needed money to bail her out. They had all the right information but I called her cell phone and she was enjoying her vacation. There's a fool born every minute they say. I'd like to confront these scammers face to face and give them the reward I feel the have earned.- Caller: unknown
- happy wife replies to anonymous| 1 replySame thing just happened. I tried to ask questions, "Sarah" was not very cooperative. I have the same details as you all, and we were forfeited because I kept stopping her and finally she asked if we were forfeiting....Yes, I am glad there are sights like this so I knew what to expect when they called back. :)

Again with the Mr. Russell, it was Amanda Lewis calling and Sarah the second time.
We too had been in the market for a car a couple of months ago, so it seemed possible that we could have gotten on a drawing.
