They called last night as I was going to bed, aparently got my number off Craigslist ad I have for selling a Wrangler as that is the only place I have put it, and it has long since expired. Though I totally love this vehicle, I'm wanting to get a larger 4WD to more safely tow my boat for loading and launching. These people said they were a Nebraska based company specializing in placing buyers with sellers and assured me they could get more than what I am asking. (also explained the late phone call, two timezones or more away) I recently researched the KBB and NADA site for values and low and behold I owe beteewn $5K and $7K more than it is worth. So I had decided in keeping it. But still, to make false claims, and how is someone 2000 miles away, going to deal with this vehicle? Besides my step son just started working at a new car dealership just down the street, so if I did anything, I'd go see if I can be a sale for him, he should give me a good deal, and I know where he lives, (lol)..

I just received a call also, hooking us up with a buyer. Sounds a little to good & easy to be true. I checked out the website but it seems confusing. I was hoping to see the same information she was telling me about. I don't know. If these buyers who are looking for a car like ours in our price range why don't they just get a hold of us. I have had ours on Craigs List. Got alot of bites, nothing yet. It only takes one.

The number is a toll-free North American number.  In addition to area codes 800 and 888, the area codes 866 and 877 are also toll-free numbers.

You can go to the FCC to file a complaint http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

There is no way to avoid calls since some of these callers just call any existing number at random.  The only thing to do would be to filter your calls (using an auto attendant or virtual phone service) or to not pick up if you do not know the caller.  Changing you phone number may help temporarily but it is not a permanent solution.

they keep calling and calling and calling and calling, and i never answer because i know it's a scammer on the line trying to "steal" my listing from autotrader.com.  this morning, he left a message saying his name was "christian"!  i had to laugh.  if he actually were one (a christian, that is) he'd do the right thing and get a real job instead of scamming people.  as far as i'm concerned, he can go straight to h-e-double-l.  never, never answer the phone if you see this number appear, or you'll be sorry.

At first I was skeptical as I have received MAANY calls from services like these. Christian's consistency and professionalism in regards to his knowledge of the services offered instigated me to take a chance and utilize his firm in marketing my vehicle.  That was 4 weeks ago and I have had quite a few offers on my vehicle and am very pleased with what his company promised to deliver.  He has been punctual with his correspondence with me and has always called when he said he would.  I am very happy with my choice.

    Got Burnt
Christian called me about selling a boat I had listed on Craigs list, stating he would post my market my boat in several different locations. I paid him the money and still don't know if it's been posted anywhere. I can't find my listing anywhere.I called him several times, at least 8 times, never getting a return phone call back from him. Beware!

I posted my vehicle on Craigslist and then Christian McCoy called me from Specialty Network to get my business. He promised that he could sell my vehicle for thousands of dollars over the KBB. BEWARE if its too good to be true it is! I signed up with them to sell my vehicle because I liked the sound of more money and Christian said he was recording the sign up where he promised me thousands of dollars more than I was asking on my own. After 3 weeks with them, I called Christian, who promised to continue his weekly calls. He called on time when I was not with them, but as soon as I had given money, he nor his assistant could ever find time to return my call. I had not gotten a single interest. I emailed to see what was going on and was instructed to lower the price of my vehicle. They guarantee to market the vehicle till it sells, BUT DO NOT GUARANTEE A SALES PRICE. I have been had. I tried to fight the charge with my credit card company and no luck yet. They have all of the tiny print to back themselves up, but not easily available online. IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT USE THEM.

They are scamers replies to Willie
Look up the Better Business Bureau of Nebraska for Specialty Network. They have an F.

    www.bbb.org

There are 116 complaints of people who were promised something, a sales price for more than the KBB value, a quicker sales time and after they gave their money were not given what they were promised on the phone.

Please help protect other consumers. File a complaint for the unsolicited phone call, which is part of mail fraud through the Postal Inspector (google it) and on www.IC3.gov.

They are not allowed to do business this way.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.

Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.
