I didn't answer, and they hung up on answering machine.

Second call from this number in about a week.  Answered both.  First one was a hang up.  Waited on this one and a recording said, "I'm sorry but there's no representative to transfer this call to.  We will try again another time".

Actually, I just called it back.  A recording identfies the company as "Nuance".  As a transcriptionist, I HAVE done business (bought a sofrware product) with a company called Nuance, who provides speech recognition software.

I have alos done business with Nuance in the past.

It's all well and good that this number has been identified but I want to know how to STOP this onslaught. We can complain endlessly but in this system of "free enterprise" no one, especially the federal government is going to do a damned thing. I have been answering my calls (I MUST because I'm running a small business) but if I don't hear a response after about two seconds I hit the # key on my phone several times in rapid succession. This trick seems to fool the autodialer but I don't know if it blows up their system.

Has called every day for a week.  No one there when I answer.

Keep getting unwanted calls from this number...please stop!

I get a call from this number at least once each weekday, on my cell phone of all places. If I pick up that says there's no representative to take this call, but sometimes he goes to voicemail. Once it went to voicemail, and I could over hear lots of chatter in the background; it sounded like a telemarketing center (i.e., Dial America or something like that).

Calling a mentally challeneged person with hard sell.

I've been getting calls for about two weeks from this number on my cell phone.  I pick up and it hangs up.  No voice mail.  I called the number and got some recording telling me in 60 days it would take my number off their list.

yes me too. I'v done so ebussines with Nuance ( voice recognition software the had been calling me 3  times a day for 3 days. Is good to know who is calling, thanks

I have been receiving calls on my inside office voice mail on an almost daily basis for a couple weeks - May, 08.  No message left.  Also in sales - call is forwarded to my cell phone. Lots of time wasted recovering non-calls.

the best way to avoid those calls, is to call them back, and tell them to stop calling. By the law 68 (canada), they should be able to stop calling you.

Also, in the US, there is a Natonial Do Not Call List, wich I don't know how to register, and in Canada, there will be something like that. You'll need to figure it how with the CRTC. The list will become active this year (2008)

I bought OmniPage Pro many years ago (Mac OS 9 version), and the program no longer even exists on my hard drive. It's been at least 7 years since it was used. I realize that the National Do Not Call list allows for something like "prior business relationships" but there should be a statute of limitations for this provision. A prior business relationship should either not be allowed, or should expire in some reasonable length of time, say 1 year. Since I have caller ID on my cell phone, I'll continue to ignore these calls, and I will NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS STUPID COMPANY! And I will never again submit my phone number when registering software with any company!

calls once a day on cellular..called back and heard "nuance"(should be nusiance)  I'm going to find them online and try an email!1

A pest - do not register any phone number with Nuance (should be called nuisance).

Called Nuance back at 1-800-654-1187 option 3, said their 866 771-6288 number was calling me all the time several times a day on a daily basis and requested my number be removed from their calling lists.  She identified my name from my phone number I gave her, and said she will note to remove my phone number from their calling lists.  Hopeful.

I suspect this is an outsourceing service they provide to unrelated telemarketers to determine at what time of the day and week, a human will be home and available to pick up the phone.

Have been receiving calls daily without leaving any message.  I have dealt with Nuance in the past, but never will again.
