pre-recorded message regarding "personal business matter"

Same as above. They called once with recorded msg re: "personal business matter," and once and left no msg. If and when I do, I'll report back.

Called to speak to someone (that does not or never has live here)about a personal business matter.  The call comes every day.  I want it stopped!

Google leads to maybe "Charlotte (NC)Credit Management Services"???

This number calls my cell phone at least five or six times a day.  It's called three times this morning since 8:01 am.  It's only 9:12 am now!!!

Still calling...three times in the last 56 minutes.  When I answer there is only silence or a recording asking to please wait for the next available associate.  What is the deal?

Transworld. Bill collector. Ignored the first few calls. When I finally answered yesterday, automated message gave name of individual they're looking for. I told the automated line I wasn't that individual. Today, I received a new call, same automated message. When I began speaking, the line hung up. Called them back, rep identified as Transworld. Said he removed my number from their lists. Then two more calls within the same hour, hang ups each time. Called back, got a second rep, told them I'll file with the state AG if they don't quit. This kind of harassment really pisses me off.

calling my work number several times a day...sometimes leaving a cut-off message after getting my voice mail message...never leaves call-back number, etc....what can I do to stop this?

Same thing happened to me, man. I answered once, and it was a recording for a some woman who didn't live here, and I know never did because my grandparents owned this house for over 30 years. The number still shows up on a regular basis :P These people need to be stopped.

Number calls my work and cell phone at least 6 -10 times a day and my wotk number. Never a message. Really getting on my nerves. They also use a (704) 503-5884 number it belongs to  Credit Management Service

I get an automated message stating the name of the person they are trying to reach, which is not me nor someone I know, and they give the option to press 3 if its the wrong #.  Even then they want you to hold to speak with someone to verify the info.  I held long enought to where they provided the name, John Bowler, as the rep who I should speak with but they give the same 866 # to call back.  This is annoying!!

I called the (704) 503-5884 that ump2009 above posted and guess who I got on the line; John Fowler.  Which is the guy that the automated system says I should be speaking with if I want my # removed since they are calling the wrong number for whoever it is they are trying to reach.  If you want to stop the repeated calls by the 866-780-6272 call their main line.

I asked him to identify himself and he said he name was Ed Perkins.

After he was told thet he had the WRONG NUMBER, He proceeded to share personal identification information about the person he was trying to reach.

It keeps calling my husband's work cell phone. When he says he is not the person they are looking for, they always hang up. And then call back AGAIN! I'm going to try calling the 704 number to tell them to stop.

This person keeps calling my phone looking for my ex-husband. I have no way of contacting my ex-husband and when I have advised them of this they tell me that this is the correct number for him and they have spoke to him at this number. I have not seen nor heard from my ex-husband in a year it is not possible for anyone to have spoke to him from my cell phone.

Keep getting calls from this number.  When I answer, a recorded message asks me to hold for the next available operator.  I have held for some time but no one answers

How to fight back. I do not answer my phone when a toll free number calls me or when a number I do not know calls me. I type the number into google and I find out who owns it. Almost all of the time a toll free number or a number I do not know calls me it is TransWorld. The key is to not give them any information. Remove your name from your VM message and if you do answer the phone and they ask for you by name hang up without saying a word. look up the number in google and if its not Trans World call them back. If it is someone you need to talk to just tell them the call dropped. I have recieved calls from 12 different numbers for TransWorld here they are so can block them like I have.

Ive stopped them, I can tell you how and then if they dont you can legaly sue them for communications harrasment. 1rst- send them a cerified letter asking they validate all debt they say you owe, that they have a license to do so in the state you live in, what fees they have charged and proof they can do so in your state, proof they have been authorized by the original debtor, what you owed them, the last payment you made and proof that you signed and owe the debt. they have 30 days to do so, also request that all future contact be done by mail, NO calls. if they do, you have a case. if you do not hear from them in 30 days, send them another certified letter telling them to remove your name from any and all papers and their phones also let them know if they violate the fair credit act you will take legal action and remove any type of reports to you credit. if they do not, you have a case. Good luck. It worked for me.
