I have received numerous hang up calls from these people.  I called the number on the caller ID 866-782-1162.  After being asked by a recording to enter my northland account number and if I didn't have it  my only other option was to enter my social security number. I entered random numbers and after my third try I got a person on the line.  She said they were trying to contact someone with my last name but not a first name of anyone in my household.  When I said there was no one at this number with that name she asked if I knew anyone with the name when I said no she thanked me and hung up. Only then did I realize that it made no sense why they kept hanging up if they were trying to collect money.  I think it is a scam to get people to enter their social security number.

We receive several calls per day from this number. They never leave a message.

This is a collection agency, if you call them back and give them your number they will tell you who they are looking for. If it is not you they will remove your number from their list.

I constantly receive calls from this number- at least 2 per day, sundays, saturdays- no messages left. If I don't know who the caller is, then I don't pick up. The caller ID reads: 800 service 866-782-1162
I know if I call it back it will confirm tell them MY name (all toll free numbers do NOT have caller ID protection), and if it is a scam, I will never get rid of them .....what to do?

I have been receiving phone calls from number ask for my ss number. i don't any business these people. they are harassing my family; day and night.

I have received several calls from this number and answered it twice only to receive a hang up.

I too receive several calls a day and they do not leave a message.  If they are legitimate they should identify themselves and why they are calling

Unemployed for over two years, if your client didn't try to screw me over with their 30% interests rates and fees I might have made a deal with them.  Now trying to pay the mortgage every month, so go screw and write me off already!

I consolidated all my credit cards into one bill and I still get collection calls and when I tell them I have consolidated they still demand a payment.  But this company the Northland Group will not leave a message and when you call  it back you get no one to talk to.  So Northland Group go talk to my consolidation company if you want money.

I receive calls from this number almost every day. On a rare occasion, someone who calls themselves, "Mr. Jones, or Mrs.Smith" or whomever, leaves a message for so-and-so to call them back because of an "urgent matter". Oooooo, sounds so important, NOT ! I am sick and tired of trying to inform these [***] that no so-and-so lives here in hopes that they will stop calling. Thankfully I have an answering machine with a nice, big DELETE button, and caller-id. I also unplug my landline phone if I have the luxury of a day off when I can sleep in, in the event this company feels the need to call at 8 a.m.  HAha

Collection agency calling for a Remington Villa. Various agencies have been after him for a year, calling my number. His name is bounced from agency to agency.  They don't have the brains to track him down.  If they bothered to Google his name, they'd locate him in no time.

Recieved a call today on my cell.  They didn't leave a message, so it's most likely a scam or debt collection company.  And I don't owe ANY debts!

they called 3-4 times a day-my wife doesn't answer unknown numbers - I called them back tonight to find out why al the calls.  They are a collection agency looking for someone who apparently had my phone number or used the number. Was not me :) They were courteous and said they  change there record. If they do and calls stop great.  If not I'll contact the Attorney General as I am on the do not call list.

Geez don't ever give out your Social Security number to anyone that will might you bad via many issues.  Please don't do that again!

If you have a smart phone like me you can actually block the number from calling. You will still be able to see when they called  typically but you phone will never ring for that number again.

It is a collection agency for Capital One!  We had an account with them BUT it was charged off.  So, they can no longer collect on it.  I just ignore the calls.
