- JaneIt's Quit4Life, an organization to help those who have signed up quit smoking. As far as I know they don't have anything to sell, and only call you if you've signed up, so... if you're getting calls from them, someone gave them your number.

Call them and let them know they have the wrong number, they are very helpful and willing
to correct any wrong numbers. - rayreceived numeous calls with no one there. Just called them them and they say they are a quit smoking program. I never requested these calls and they said either my employer or insurance company told them to call me
- JonWish they would answer so I can unload on them. Call me unsolicited. Never smoked a day in my life. Leave me alone.
- Caller: quit coach
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Pete| 2 repliesThis number is from a smoking quit help line. Jon (below) wants to "unload on them". What a moron. They are there because someone in your family or employer told them to call. They are not trying to sell you anything or solicit money. Call them and tell them they made a mistake, and they will remove your number. With Lowes (don't know about any other employer) they will send you a free complete set of quit smoking patches (they are expensive to buy). So give these folks a break, they are only trying to help you quit smoking :)
- Caller: Lowes
- Jon replies to Pete| 1 replyNo, Pete your the moron. Read the last line of my post. I HAVE NEVER SMOKED A DAY IN MY LIFE!!!!!! I find smoking totally disgusting lived with it all my life, everyone in my family smoked.
only re-found this as they are calling again, now asking for Christine.
oh well Pete's a moron❗ - Karen Pipkindo not call

- JohnActually, I have found that if you work for a company that charges a premium on your insurance for being a smoker, and you miss that little check box to not that you are not a smoke, that it defaults to being a smoker. Then, your company, via HR, automatically sends your information to Quit 4 Life. Many insurance companies are now also doing this --- they do not notify you, and some even default all people to being smokers, just to collect the money, and then refund to those that contact back, or go through the program, even if they do not smoke. Might want to consider that one.

- John replies to JonAs I noted below, depending on your employer, it may be a default. One of my friends was recently contacted, because his wife used to smoke 4 years ago, and they are charging him 50 dollars a check until his house is "tobacco free". However, since he has 3 children, also on his insurance, the employer set up a call for each person named, to include the toddler ---
His choice is to either have everyone do a test at the clinic, at 25 dollars each, or enroll them in the program.
He showed me the paperwork, and it asks if anyone in the household has used tobacco in the last 10 years, and also notes that they can check medical records, since insurance companies can, and any falsehood will result in refused coverage, even if all premiums are paid.
No one is a Moron --- rather, companies and insurance companies are using this as a way to skim more money from people's paychecks. And if you are getting these calls, I would recommend checking your paycheck to see if you are being charged extra for it. And even if they are not, yet, it is something that they can implement any time, without an option to opt out..... - brendaGetting calls and they ask for press 1/2, no ideas
- PattyIt is Quit 4 Life, support help for smokers wanting to quit. My employer charges a $500 a year surcharge for smokers. If I make 5 phone calls to this help line my employer drops the surcharge on my insurance. I don't even have to quit, I just have to make the 5 calls. They send you free information and free patches if you want them. They called me today to remind me that I need to make my 5 calls before the end of March to get the surcharge removed for another year. I tell them every year when I start my 5 calls that I have no intention of quitting, that I just want the surcharge dropped and they understand. They are very nice and helpful. No reason for people to freak out. If you are getting calls from them it is because your employer or insurance gave them your name and number. Or someone gave them your number instead of their own number. I have opted out of receiving the calls as you can do, I told them I would call at my convenience and they only call once a year as a reminder that it is time again.
