- V| 6 replies866-791-5694, I received a recording about a legal matter and they stated that they sent me paperwork, which they didn't and if I didn't respond back for me to get a lawyer.
- Heather replies to V| 5 repliesI just got this same phone call! Called back and I get a recording to leave a message
- Ne replies to Heather| 3 repliesI just got the same call about 2 hours ago do you think its a scam I do they cant give me the company name which the legal matter is coming from
- Elspeth replies to NeIf an alleged debt collector or lawyer working as a debt collector, refuses to give you their company name and verifiable street address, you can be sure they are scammers. Also, you don't get calls saying you're going to be in "legal" trouble - you'd receive letters and then a visit from a process server - who doesn't call and give you a heads up prior to his arrival. Block the number and ignore them.
- TinaDewThis number just called me and I pressed the option to speak to a representative. They said they are Intracoastal Processing Services. Asked how they can help and I said I don't know, you called me. He said he would have to go downstairs to the legal department to pull the file if I wanted to discuss it. I said I don't really care either way, you called me. If you want to discuss it then go get it. He said well there's a warrant for your arrest. And hung up. I think this is so funny. I am well educated in my rights when it comes to debt collectors. It's 99% likely to be a scam. First of all I have not received a dunning letter and by law they cannot threaten to arrest you for an old debt. Legally, I could file a complaint and sue them! I imagine they are a junk debt buyer. I have several old debts that are past the legal time limit to sue. What they do is sell those files off to junk debt buyers for pennies on the dollar who in turn try to collect. DON"T fall for it. If you set up a payment arrangement you re-start the clock for civil prosecution. They cannot issue a warrant or arrest you. These companies will try to scare you into giving them money on old debts that the original creditor has written off and they are violating the FDCPA if they threaten you.

- TJI just received a call, on my work land line, from Adam Banks from Intracoastal Processing Services (using a blocked phone number). He stated it was for me using my first and last name. He said that I had not responded to a 10-day notice (which I have never received) and it was regarding a civil case against me (which I have also never heard about). He stated that it was my choice to resolve this outside of court and that I would need to call the legal company that hired him (he gave the phone number of 8667915694), which as everyone here seems to know is Intracoastal Processing Services. He then gave me a case number, which he rattled off too fast to right down and said "good luck".
So, the only information he had on me was my name and business phone number.
He did not say who hired him, even though the phone number he provided leads back his employer.
I don't know guys, seems pretty fishy to me.- Caller: Intracoastal Processing Services
- ANNJUSTThis Adam Banks, call me every day sometimes 3 times a day. I dont run from him. He tells me the same run around. I advised I have a lawyer and he tells me, "They need a fax from the state bar assoc, stating my attorney is a liscn criminal attorney" he then gives me a bogus fax # 844-862-7724. I told him i have never heard of such BS in my life. Then he states the server came to my house yesterday. Well i was home all day yesterday (waiting on plumber) no one ever came. He then said i can sue the process server. I ask him isnt that him! he hung up.. I will be calling him 2xs for everytime he has called me and harrass him.. Such BS..
- Caller: scam
- DarHave been receiving calls from this number for past month or so at rate of once or twice a week. It is a robo call telling me that I have a serious legal matter which will result in my arrest if I do not respond. Obviously some sort of scam or at very least, a collection agency of very, very old debt with a dubious business ethic. Costing me phone minutes
- Call type: Debt collector
- steph replies to Neyou can't find this place on Google I looked up the name and nothing comes up for this place
- stephthis number called never said my name and I search there name and nothing comes up for them I been getting the same message for 2 weeks now

- CheetosI just got the same call. He did at least leave a message, but I' m sure it's phony. It's bad enough to have Portfolio calling every day. Now I have new morons to deal with
- Go GreenI received 3 messages saying I was in serious legal trouble and that I would be arrested or fined if I did not call back. I called back and got a dumb recording.... I assume this is a scam since I have no old debts and have certainly never been arrested. Scam, I assume.

- Sarita| 1 replyVoicemail on my work phone, robocall that said I've ignored the paperwork they've sent me and the 10 day limit has expired. A guilty plea will be entered on my behalf since I have not responded to them. Left this phone number to call back on. Sounds very scammy, and looking at everything here I think my gut is right. I had my identity stolen about 4 years ago, loans taken out in my name and these things keep popping up no matter how many times I file with FTC, my attorney general, etc. It is like a giant whack-a-mole game. I'm not calling them back - I do not want them to know my number is valid - and of course not setting up an arrangement or giving them a dime. Jerks.

- jo| 3 repliesI got a similar call for my niece from JDS recovery at (904)329-7350 and they transfered me to intracoastal processing at (844)760-4347. They said they had a warrent for her arrest. I told him she was in the hospital and he said she would be handcuffed to the bed and taken to jail when she was released. So I made a payment on my credit card. Today I disputed the charge with the bank, but I probably won't get my money back. It was also for a payday loan with banner bank.

- CWG40 replies to SaritaA guilty plea would only be part of a criminal proceeding. In order to be found guilty of a crime there has to be a trial. There's a public prosecutor involved whenever anyone is tried for a crime. If you were charged with a crime you'd be well aware of it. Debt collectors have nothing to do with the criminal justice system, period.
This is just a scam and a stupid one at that. - CWG40 replies to jo| 1 replyWarrants are only issued by judges to duly constituted officers of the law. They are only used in criminal cases and are only served by duly constituted officers of the law. A debt collector is not a law officer and cannot get a warrant for anything. You can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt. Being in debt is not a crime. Debt collectors have no influence on the criminal justice system. Period. This is a huge scam. Seems to me the bank should return your money since it is an obvious fraud.

Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
Did you ever get a name or address for these people? If so, publish it here. Also, see if you can get the bank to tell you the name of the entity that received the payment. They have to be shut down. - Tamianth replies to joDespite what they said, you can't be arrested for owing a debt. Debt is a civil matter, not criminal. They are not a judge and can not issue warrants for anyone. They also can not prosecute for payday loans or the checks written for them. This company is located in NY, which has strict laws, payday loans are illegal there for a start. If your in NY, they also can not collect on them. Another thing with NY, the BBB requires said information from DC's there, and this one apparently won't cooperate, they also show a remarkable nasty attitude in the complaint responses to the BBB. The BBB has a alert on them as well. It appears they have a very bad habit of breaking FDCPA laws. If your in another state, they also must have a business license for that state as well. If she did have a loan, you should contact the place she got it from and see if it was turned over and who actually does own it.
Send a Cease & Desist letter via USPS certified or return receipt mail. Make sure you keep any messages left on your answering machine, and record according to your state laws, some states require you tell them, others do not. Link to see your state laws is below. Keep a notebook with notes on each conversation, also you should take pictures of your caller id and if possible, transfer the recorded calls to a recording machine. Document everything! Check your states Statue of limitations and also check your credit reports. Your entitled to a free report from each one once a year.

BBB has seen a major increase in collection agencies starting business in the Upstate New York area over the past several years. In an effort to keep consumers informed about which collection agencies are operating in accordance with federal and state law, we have asked for specific information from all collection agencies located in our service area, including proof of licensing, bonding, and or registration required by NY state or other governments where the business is located, as well as proof of licensing required by any state in which the business operates. This collection agency has not responded to our requests. BBB advises consumers to be aware of their rights in regard to collections. This includes New York States law prohibiting any collection agency from collecting on Payday loans in the State of New York. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) outlines prohibited behavior when attempting to collect a debt, and outlines specific rights for consumers. There are penalties for agencies found in violation of the Act. BBB advises consumers to become familiar with their rights under the Act, which can be found at the link below: http://upstateny.bbb.org/storage/75/documents/debtcollection.html To file a complaint with BBB click the link below: https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
