My wife and I both got calls from that number today.  My wife answered.  I missed it and called back.  My wife had told me that someone called from Nationwide and asked for a girl whose name was unfamiliar.  She was a little concerned about it.  More so when she saw the missed call from the same number on my phone.  I called back.  It rang a long time but someone finally answered.  Apparently it is actually a number for CapitalOne Nationwide Credit.

Anyway, when i asked the purpose for the call, the representative asked if i knew Laura ________.  I didn't think i did, but she said i was listed as a contact number for her, asked how long i'd been using the same cell number, and then told me my number would be removed from their records.  It was very strange.  Further, i looked up the girl's name on facebook to find out we went to the same college and were, in fact, facebook friends.  Ha.  I don't know anything else yet.  I sent the girl a message to try to get info.  I don't know if this is anything fraudulent. I'm looking into it.

Keeping getting Calls from Capital One Nationwide Credit for someone else and have told them this each and every time.  Can someone put a stop to them calling?

Got a call at our business asking for Peter _____.  Asked how long we've had this phone number (A: 13 years!)

I get calls from this number all the time and have told the, stop calling me  they still call what can I do Im sick of tired getting call from this number.

First the computer generated response, then a very polite young man in MUMBAI, INDIA.
Ummm, if this really is from capital one then why aren't they employing CITIZENS OF THE USA SINCE THEY SERVICE CUSTOMERS IN THE USA?!?

Received a call from 503-821-7569 which left an automated message in my voicemail asking that I call "Bob Jones" back on 866-806-7267.  Don't know who they are or why they're calling so have no intention of calling them back.

I received a message yesterday. The number that came up on the caller ID on the tv screen was an Austin, Texas area number. The message that was left was this number asking to call "Bob Jones". I actually do have an outstanding debt with CapitalOne. So I'll be calling back shortly. :(

This phone number is legitimate. They are NationWide Credit-calling on behalf of the credit card company CapitalOne. I had a very good experience with the debt collector I spoke to. They are outsourced. The people that I talked to were out of India call center. Very professional.

I forgot to ask them why a Austin, Texas metro number showed up on my caller ID. But I did a little research and there is a satellite office for NationWide credit in Austin. So that explains the two different numbers.

I have received a couple of call from this number on my cell phone.  I did answer one and it started out with a voice that stopped immediately when I said "Hello".  The caller (or the call) then immediately hung up.  I suspect it is a robotic call that is programmed to hang up if someone answers (the call is perhaps attempting to leave a voice message).  Other calls from this number did not leave messages.

I get a call from them 4 times a day, everyday. They ask for a person I do not know.  I'm on the do not call list, yet they still continue to call & have now for several months. I hesitate to call them back because when you do that, you have over ridden the do not call policy & have given them the right to continue to call. A few months back I answered & told them to stop calling my number, but they just ignore me & continue to call. It's really irritating.

Continue to get calls asking for Raymond Dallman.  I've told them more times than I Can recall he has not had this number for many years, if he ever did.  I see no end in sight -- would love to know if this is enforceable under the "do not call " rules.

update:  listed through about 5 minutes of "we'd like to update our records, we like to ..." finally msg that said no one was able to take my call, but would I call 866-806-7267, reference #6294609 (good god, am i into this deep now).  On calling that number, a message said, "Serena is not able to take my call.  leave a message."  hmmm....let's all give serena a call, shall we?

Have gotten several calls from this fake "Capital One" collections agency. Yep, it's the same bank corp that got billions in bailouts under the Bush Admin. I hope there's a special hell for all these phone harassers. I'd flip burgers at McD's before I'd sit in a room and harass people by doing collections OR telemarketing (they're often one and the same outfit).
