This call comes up caller id area code 311 and they ask you to call an
1-866-808-7175 number. They call sometimes 20 or more times a day every single day! I am disabled and it is very hard for me to get to the phone. I end up having to wade thru tons of useless voicemails from this number!

They say to call because you are listed as a family member. You think it's something urgent but it's not.

I received a message saying this call was meant for the intended person and this number and that it was in an attempt to collect a federal government education debt and then it said to contact 866-808-7175.

What made me do this research is that I know 876 is the area code for Jamaica and that didn't seem right.

I just rec'd a call from 866-808-7175 x 818 from an Andrew at Premier Credit confirming info my son had supposedly given him. He said he got points for every question answered. The only reason my husband aswered the phone was because on our T.V. it showed a local #. Andrew started asking my husband questions so my husb had me talk to Andrew.

Andrew asked me some questions, also-wanting to verify mailing address, place of employement, married, single, dependents, spouse name, phone #. I gave very little info because if he was confirming info shouldn't he already have it in front of him?  I told him I didn't have all of the info he was asking for especially the ph# and I would have to call him back.  He said I had 10 minutes to call him back. I don't think I'm gonna call him back after reading all the comments about that ph#?

This guy was trying to trick me into giving him info to collect a debt.  Even if my son owes money on student loans, which by the way are taken from his state tax refund each year, what Andrew did was illegal and I almost fell for it.

No one from this company will get anymore info from me and I will let them know that I have reported them to the BBB, etc.

These people are slick.  I talked to a man named Dan Marx.  He was trying to collect on a student loan debt.  They have the ability to call from one number while another number will show up on your caller id.  for instance, I would not answer his phone calls, so my caller id showed that my work was calling when i picked up it was Him!!! yikes.

Kay from Premier Credit just called my Mom.  Never mind that I haven't lived with my Mom for 20(ish years).  Kay indicated that she was calling for a reference for my loan application and wanted some very personal information. Of course, I haven't filled out any loan applications so...Be very wary!

FIGHT BACK!!  Calltheir toll free numbers a million times and hang up in their faces.  They pay for each call.  Ruin their day like they ruin yours.  Run up their phone bills until they stop harassing you.  The FTC will not protect consumers. Call after hours and listen to their voicemail.  They pay for it.
Post this idea on every website.  Send an email to everyone in your address book. Spread the word.

Automated message. Repeated calls every week, trying to collect " an obligation that we understand that you owe."  Never had a student loan.  Our number has been mine or my grandparents since 1943!  Whoever they are looking for isn't and never was here!

Kay keeps calling from all these different numbers at all times of the day. 1-866-808-7175 ext 372. She tries to get you to pay a large sum of money, which the student loan people won't push you to make if you don't have it. If you don't believe me, check out their companies unsatisfactory mark by the better business bureau.Premier Credit has complaints about their practices.
