- ConcernedThese folks have been calling our business line for a week or so nearly every morning. They refuse to tell me exactly who they are and what they do. However, due to a reference during our conversation to an "application", I believe they are a credit card entity. No one presently here does any business with them no has anyone here contacted them. The gentleman I spoke with could not help me without my SSN, which I wasn't about to give out. He then refused my request to speak with a superior because "they would need an account number or SSN." I told him I had a complaint, and he eventually and grudgingly transferred me to appropriately named "fraud dept.", who was of no help in the matter at all. Anyone have any idea as to how to stop these calls? Short of paying someone else?

- StardustEvery day for at least a month now I get a call on my cell phone from "Unknown Caller." A couple of times immediately afterward they sent me a text message for a mortgage company (I don't own a home). Usually they leave a message that starts out with almost a minute of dead air, crackling, static, or sometimes heavy breathing, then the same voice leaves a slightly different message every day. Most days it sounds like they say they're from Rent-a-Center; today they said they were from card services and to call the toll-free number or they would beat the sh*t out of me. I never answer the phone or call them back because I know if you confirm that there's a live person at the number who's actually listening to their messages they'll call even more, but it's getting out of hand. Aside from the text message charges (and T-Mobile says there's nothing they can do to stop them from sending them, even though I have to pay for every one that I receive), I work evenings and overnights and they like to call either in the morning, while I'm trying to sleep, or late evening after I'm at work and not supposed to be getting calls. (I need to keep my phone on in case of family emergencies. I have an elderly, ailing grandmother.)
- WillI have been getting calls from this number 4-5 times a day. Usually it says UNAVAILABLE and only rings once. Today I got a message from them saying they have a exicting oppurtunity for me and to call 866-816-7018 and would not say who they are from.
Other times I just get a call from a woman a recorded message saying Please call Aspire..- Caller: Aspire

- Irritated in Seattle| 1 replyFor the last week now I have gotten four or five phonecalls from this company. They always leave the same message that they are "Credit Services and they have an exciting matter to talk to me about in regards to my credit card."(not exact words but very close.) They then leave their phone number and say its extremely important for me to return the call. Its always the same automated voice"Nancy".
I tried picking up the phone to answer and I got the automated voice that hung up on me.. Other times I just let it ring to voicemail.
Today as I just got home from the hospital and didn't want to deal with the phone ringing every couple hours I tried to call the number.
Immediately they asked for my social security number , my mothers maiden name and my account number.
I told them no, I didn't even know who they were and before they could possibly have that information I needed to know who they were. The lady then told me she could not provide that information to me unless I gave her my account information, to which point I said "How in the world can I give you my account information if I don't know what company you represent?" It just went downhill from that point. It eventually ended with me telling her to put me on their do not call list and her refusing then me firmly telling her 2 more times to put me on their do not call list.
Companies are required to keep that list and update it if a customer says Put me on your do not call list 3 times or more.
After three times she said "Go to our website and put yourself on the list". Then I asked "what is your website?" and she said "www.donotcall.org" . What a crock. There is no way I am using that site, the last time I registered on the do not call site I got spammed 10 to 20 times a day from "non profit organizations" attempting to get me to give them all my hard earned money, which eventually ended up leading to me having to change my number.
What's the morale of this story?
These people must be scam artists.- Caller: Credit Services
- GSquareMy 15 year old son keeps getting calls from this number. Calling back is the same as others reported. They want an account number or a social. I tell them the person is 15 years old and does not have a credit card. They refuse to identify their address or give me a name other than a first name.

- ammy replies to deathbot| 7 repliescan they not come back and hire private investigator to find you and take you to court for melisious intent to defraud a company? i had a private investigator call me and tell me they were going to take me to court for that very reason and it really scared me!
- Ridiculous idiotsWow, I am impressed to see that this many people have been having the same problem with these guys. Its unbelieveable, for the first time today, they have actually left me a message with a phone number. Who are these people? I tried calling them back and some of you have said you have actually talked to someone. All I can get to is an atomated message saying to enter my social security number or bank account number. This is bs. How do I get these guys to stop?

- Anonym| 1 replyJust got a call from this number today.
I will add it to my list of numbers to blast with a can airhorn.
I got this little airhorn from walmart that has a removable horn which changes to a HIGH PITCHED SCREAMING whistle that carries well over the phone. HA HA HA it works sooo well.
I recommend it to anyone.
The can is very small and fits in a pocket with the horn removed. - Let's Get Even| 3 repliesSame story here. They have been calling my daughter's cell every day for the last week. The number is on the Do Not Call but it seems Compu Credit feels they are exempt. I have called this number and spoke with two different "supposed" supervisors twice. The last one was named Lou C. Supposedly. He claims he's only on the Cust Service end and does not control Marketings efforts. He wouldn't give his full name. Wouldn't confirm that they have an exisiting business relationship with me. Wouldn't verify if they have a written call policy and would not confirm that they maintain a Do Not Call List. It is my understanding that these are all possible $500 fines. He did give me an address to write to: Card Services, PO Box 10555, Atlanta, GA 30348. I doubt this is a legit address. Does anyone know if the Post Office could verify? I have worked in Call Centers for 6 years and it's the company's responsbility to "scrub" the number against the DNC list BEFORE calling. I even had the number on my daughters cell changed last night but they have already called the new number twice today. I don't know how but my guess is "they" call a block of numbers because her new number is only 400 higher than the old. We need to organize our efforts. I'll try Compu Credit's number tomorrow to see if I can get some answers and will post again if I have time. I may try some Atlanta government offices if I have time. Maybe we could all call their main number several times a day and get others to do the same or something like that. We need to bring this piece of crap company to it's knees. Any suggestions?

- Let's Get EvenFOLLOW UP: Finally got some resolution. I got a yet another call. Went to the supervisor. I drilled him pretty hard. Wasn't rude to him but very stern. Turns out they also do calling for HSBC. I had to hammer him pretty hard to get his name, company name and address. They are supposed to provide that info by law. I pleaded with the guy that they were calling a childs cell phone. He did tell me that it takes up to 48 hours to get our number off their list. Eventually I got all that info. Just be tough with them. The calls finally stopped.

- Sam L.They call everyday, I only have answered 3 times. All three times I asked them to stop calling, but appearently this Johnny Bundick guy owes them money. So I told them I am not that guy and to stop calling. So now I hoping that the third time I tell them and wait the 48 hours it will stop. I don't act rude or anything, I just tell them to stop calling me.

- ThopolisMy roommate took the call from "Jerry" at 866-816-7018. Her opinion of him was one of a "very offensive, rude individual". Needless to say, I won't be calling Jerry back. "Jerry" would not say who he was calling from, only that I should call him back immediately. He was demanding, as if that technique really works with intelligent people, or even over a phone line.

- MELISSA replies to granny of 3| 11 repliesThe fact about the hole thing is, if u and the rest of these people would pay your bills on time the calls would have never been placed. There is a thing called terms and conditions when u get these creditcards. If u don't read them that is your own fault. U and others fuss about all the calls being placed the most simple thing to do is pay your bill and pay it on time.
