A guy claimed to be an attorney representing Online Yellow Pages, claiming that my office has breached the contract by not paying for over a grant! He said he could cut a deal by asking for a half of the balance owing. The fact is, I don't have a contract with this company! BEWARE!

A guy named Robert Kelly just called our office, claiming to be with "City Yellow Pages", and listed this number as his contact phone number. He claimed the company has not paid a bill for over $550 and they are threatening to send us to collections. We do not have a contract with them and have never agreed on ANY of their services. Beware, beware, beware!!

Received a call from Alan Cohen (?) at this number. Said they sent an invoice in June (I have heard that story more times than I can remember).  Said we have an overdue bill and we paid the bill last year with a VISA card, would I/we call with the card number again and take care of the invoice so they do not have to go to collections.  I never give credit card information or social security information over the phone, so this guy must be full of something.  This has to be a scam...I get phone calls about this time every year from one scammer or another...all with the same story that I stated above.

I received a call from a 'Kevin Gates' multiple times per day over the past week stating that our company owes 'City Yellow Pages' close to $700 for the second year of our contract term. They claimed an invoice was sent out in June (which I never received) Funny thing is, we DO NOT have a contract with this company and never have. We never paid them any money previously and they say they can't provide me with a contract because the FCC owns that. But if I would pay them, they could get a me a copy and receipt of the payment. He couldn't tell me the amount of the 1st payment I supposedly sent either. He advised that if he asked for an investigation into the account it may come back that a payment was erroneously posted to my account and that I may actually still owe for the 1st year too. What the heck! So if they don't have proof of a contract and neither do we, there must not be one!! They also threatened to send this to collections. It's close to the holidays and scammers are hard at work! Beware and don't waste your time with these people!

"Rick Adams" called me today working on behalf of City Yellow Pages.  I sort of got a little irate cause I sensed it was scam.  "Rick" remained very calm and was very understanding of my anger...imagine that! Not the first time he has been screamed at I am sure.
He was an "attorney" giving me a courtesy call to let me know he had been authorized by City Yellow Pages to run my husband's social security number and complete a 5 point credit check to determine his assets.  The CYP would decide which of these assets are worth coming after.  They would be willing to take a settlement of $1998.95 on a total of $2389.46.
Do your homework people and DO NOT give them your money.

Being a company of 3 people, I know exactly what goes on in every aspect of our daily business. Caller (http://cityyellowpages.us/index.php) claimed they sent us invoices (they didn't) we paid them for 1st year of service but that we notified them back in August that we wanted to cancel our service with them (we have no service or contract with them so nothing to cancel) and have an outstanding bill of $600 or so??? Lies! Caller does not realize we have caller i.d. in our office. They verbally said their call back number was 866-817-3906, caller i.d. stated 866-730-0358. Googled their phone numbers while I had them on the phone and told them about all the complaints made about them and that they had been reported to the BBB. Caller became verbally abuse after being confronted, so I hung up on him.  Very common practice to be sent bills by false/front companies under the guise of being yellow pages type companies. If you have not contacted yellow pages personally to advertise with them, be wary of those that say you did. This company seems to pull this about twice a year. Read up on "yellow pages" scams on the internet as it is rampant. I'm reporting this one to our state's attorney's office for being persistent.

I have been getting call from Susan Miles at this number.  She said we owe her money for yellow pages
Listing.  She said we signed up for two years and we must give them over $1,000.00 or they will take us to court for the money.  I told her if she send me a contact that we sign and mail me a bill we would pay her.  At first she said she would will out the contract,  months later she said it was a vocbal contract and we did not sign anything.

We've gotten phone calls from them three days straight this week. Each time was a different actor (so they have a fairly large staff of crooks, it appears). Each time they claim to be from a different company too -- yesterday it was George Weston from "City Yellow Pages" and today was "Susan Miles" from Business Pages. Susan was the nastiest out of all of them.

The second guy who called us gave us two different names, and when I asked him for his e-mail address he gave me a Google account! So you claim to have a toll free number with an extension but not a corporate e-mail address, buddy!? Susan wouldn't even give me her e-mail. They only want to communicate by fax. These people are so pathetic. Why doesn't the FCC disable their toll free numbers?

Today Feb 19th 2013 I received a call from this number stating  by a man Named Jim Andersen (that is a real un common name in America don't you think Ha Ha!)  stating that he was a attorney for city yellow pages and that I owed  there company 700.00 dollars that I had not paid on a past advertising ad with them.  I know this is bogus because when I asked him if he would send or fax me a copy of a signed contract he said the attorneys had it and would show it to me in court if I did not pay today. Notice how he said the attorneys had it when he stated to me he was a attorney  So I said you mean to tell me that you have a contract and you will not fax or send it to me so I can see for myself that this is a legit business contract he said no they would not.  Who does that in this country nobody except a bunch of f-ing scammers.  I am so sick of these [***] go get a job [***] or start a business and earn your way like the rest of us.  Do not give these pricks your credit card info!!!

This stupid woman called me twice today, stating I'm Susan Miles with the Paralegal Dept. and my business is in default with the contract with Rapid Yellow pages???? But wait... she left a message on my machine that she was from Business Yellow Pages... So I called this woman back and she was the most vial, pathetic piece of work I have ever heard. Asked her to prove who she was, and I got a response of I need your email, fax and account information etc... I refused and she called me nasty names. I also called the attorney general office but they said there is no way of tracing these people since most are out of the country.

I wish there was a way to stop these people!!!

Our church is getting calls from this number, saying he is Sam Goldfine from City Yellow pages, we owe past due but we have never ordered ads from this company. He said our former pastor approved but he did not, would have brought it before the church first for that much money, $600. He actually paid $300 by credit card, got confirmation email from Alan Cohen in 2012.

I received a call today from Jim Anderson who claimed to be a paralegal for the Yellow Pages and that our company owed them $1445.36 from a contract and were going to subpoena me for court if I didn't settle with them out of court today.  I asked for a copy of the contract and they would not give it to me.  They had our bank account number also.  I would not settle and said that we didn't have a contract with them.  Jim said "then how did I get your bank account information? Out of a hat?"  I really don't know how they got that information but refused to settle with them and hung up.  Actually, if they have a check of ours that has the account number on it.

The old "yellow pages" scam.  They wouldn't be able to take you to court because there is NO contract signed - please do report this guy to the FTC, and your state's Attorney General.  You may also want to contact your bank and have them place fraud alerts on your account, since you said he had the bank account number.  Per the FTC:

They are collection calling us saying we signed up for service, already made a payment and now want the balance due. Gave me the last 4 digits of our bank account number & name of our bank but for some reason, could not give me the amount we supposedly already paid, check number or when it was paid so I could find this payment. I have found other sites with lots of people saying these people call out of the blue & want $$$ and threaten to send you to collections. Told the guy that without a contract we weren't paying anything. He says that he couldn't have gotten our bank information out of the blue so obviously it wasn't a scam and I told him it's actually quite easy to get the last 4 digits of any account number and that we were disputing this and to go ahead to send to their legal department.
