866-825-6044

Phone rang once and disconnected before I could answer it.  

I returned call to the number and recorded female voice said 'we are unable to read the number you are calling from.  Leave your name and number and we will call you back'.

inbound from 888-825-6044 - 4x today - tried 866 as suggested by corney and got connected to CenturyTel - the very nice lady told me that the numbers were theirs. She seems to think these were calls were from the promotions department...

Have been getting three to six call from 866-825-6044 per day for a few days now, after a quiet period of a week or so.  Before that we would get a few calls from that number.  Caller ID says "Toll Free Service".  Many of them terminate before the answering machine activates, none stay connected after the answering machine picks up.

Day after day after day we receive numerous incoming calls from one or both of the following numbers:
1-866-825-6044
1-888-825-6044
Caller ID just says Toll-Free.
We are on ALL the do-not-call lists, so don't ever answer unless the caller ID indicates call is legit.
VERY annoying and irritating!!

I called back, got someone who claimed to be with Century Tel phone service, promotions department. They offered me "High Speed DSL 256K internet along with all my other phone services" I already get from Cen-Tel for 54.90 a month for 24 months. That is a good deal so I said sure, sign me up........ This was April 12th, they have NOT called back since, and I do NOT have "High Speed DSL 256K internet along with all my other phone services". Nor has anything been sent to me to set it up and get it going. They were supposed to email me info to my account, but that has NOT happened either. Now I am waiting on my bill to see what they did or didn't do. I know I know, I should call them at customer service. Infact, when I get off line here, I will.

Yes - This is Century Tel offering DSL. I told the lady I already have DSL - she proceded to ask me questions about whether or not I have DSL on the phone number she dialed... HELLO! So irritating. Finally apologized saying their records must not be updated. Funny since I've had DSL for over 2 years with them.

I live in Nebraska and received a call this morning. "Dead Silence". I doubt if Century Tel is offering any services in my state. I too am on the DO NOT CALL registry and I always get calls from "ghost" numbers.

Have rec'd numerous calls from this number - CT is our service provider but don't identify themselves - will call them. Thanks for the info!

Calls from 866-825-6044 are from North Star Collections agency. I was on there list after an X-daughter-in-law did not pay her bills. I am on do not call list!

I found out this number is coming from a calling card so I just thought I would let everyone know.

Call from Toll Free Service.  We do not pick up but they call constantly and leave no message.  VERY ANNOYING!!

Received a call from 866-825-6044.  Since we noticed it was a toll free number, we don't answer.  As soon as our answering machine kicked in, the call terminated.  This is typical of telemarketing-style calls.  We, too, are on the do-not-call list.

I'm in Nebraska.  Received call from "866-825-6044" saying there had been an accident and needing to talk, but hung up before saying who it was that was calling...naturally caused a lot of upset and needless worry.  Returned the call to the number and recorded female voice said 'we are unable to read the number you are calling from.  Leave your name and number and we will call you back'.

Unlisted number called my Canadian cell phone.  I could not answer at the time.

What on earth is with these people! Posted this message just a few minutes ago for another number so will say the same thing here. Changed my answering message to let callers know we're not available for unknown callers and apologies to our legitimate callers asking them to leave a message so we can call them back.

Actually the call is from a collection agency, but it's not always the type of call you would think.  I have an auto loan and this collection agency is actually contracted out to deal with payments.  I didn't know this until I called to make my monthly payment and was informed by my finance company that these guys are legit and are just helping them.  They are very nice and polite to deal with actually.

Get these calls on a random basis and no one is ever there. Would like them to stop because this is annoying. But like with all of these types of calls...they'll eventually stop.

Wow!  It's a call from TOLL FREE SERVICE!  For some reason the caller hung up on my nice polite answering machine :(
