Received voice mail regarding an alleged account stating that they were filing criminal charges against me.  The man started to yell at me and when I questioned the debt and asked for documentation he said that I will be getting that from the sheriff and hung up on me.  I filed a complaint with the FTC who said they violated the law by calling my work phone, using abusive language, and threatening to have me arrested.

Called and threatened my husband with the prospect of jail... gave personal information to me about him without verifying who I was. Very rude, did not tell me the line was recorded until at the end of the call. Gave this number to call back to.

called and said I was going to be arrested for theft of services for a payday loan with cashnet usa. I informed him that since this was a payday loan the law states I can not be charged with a criminal offense. He said I could and would be charged with defrauding a financial institution if I did not pay today over the phone. I refused and asked for proof of the debt and a mailing address to mail my payment to. He became very irate and verbally abusive and said that I had a problem listening and that the only way to resolve this was over the phone. When I absolutely refused to give him any account information he said see you in court and hung up on me. I called him back an hour later after speaking with the detective division in my City and advised him that I had just spoke with a detective and he interupted and said "AND YOUR POINT IS"? and than he hung up on me before I had a chance to respond. If you receive a call from these people do not call them back!! I contacted Cashnet usa and they swear that they are not affiliated with the Dept. of Check and Business services. Beware of these scammers!

These People called my Ex inlaws and said it was my last day to turn myself in without being arrested and a warrant would be issued for my arrest for writing bad checks which i have never done...I have filed a complaint with the FTC.....Since reading these reports i will not be calling them....

BTW THESE PEOPLE POSE AS POLICE OFFICERS, ONE GUY SAID HIS NAME WAS OFFICER REED!!!!!!!!!!

Go to the police department and file a report. It's a felony to impersonate a police officer.

Yeah, you got suckered. Don't pay people who call you up yelling, they can't have you arrested, they can't garnish your wages, they're liars. Hang up and call your attorney.

These people identified themselves to my mother as Business and Check Services with an Investigator Johnson calling for me to clear up a criminal matter with me.  They told my cousin I had wrote a fraudulent check, which is not true and also personal information.  I have reported them to the FTC and I did leave them a message but will not be calling them back!!!!

The exact thing happened to me just this morning. I continued to call him back continuously until he finally said he didn't want my payment, it wouldn't be good anyways probably and they would just attach a warrant to my drivers license.I gave them information to account I am closing anyways and told him I had filed that loan in a chapter 7 bankruptcy and he could talk to my attorney.

They called me this afternoon stating the matter was urgent.  They informed me that they have already served me with papers, however that was from Texas and I now live in Georgia.  I was told this was a Federal matter and the call is being recorded to use in court.  I asked him what company is asking for my money and he said a payday loan.  I hung the phone in his face and immediately began searching for information online.  Thank God I ran into this website.

Called my mother and stated she was Investigator Johnson with the IRS and left her number for me to call back.  After finding this page I decided to report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration - perhaps they will be interested in called her back...

Did you ever receive any paperwork or summons to go to court for this matter? I just received a call from them and he said the same thing to me about see you in court and then he hung up.
