they called here today and said they had a message for ____ and to call them back..

Crazy, called me every day for at least 5months

They call and give 2 numbers please call us at 866-566-9991 and again that number is 866-843-8410
What the heck is that and who are they

They are a business who bought a bad debt (from the financial institution they say they're calling on behalf of) for pennies on the dollar and they're trying to maximize their return on that investment by trying to collect the full book value of that debt, which is why they can "settle" for less.
The money no longer exists.  ignore the claims along with the calls.  after 7 years, you're in the clear...and can start fresh.
