- luke| 1 replyI got a phone calll from the number, does anyone know where it is from? thanks
- mEGot a call from this number tonight. The girl didn't even say who/what company she was calling for but she was saying that I have been "specially selected" for this fantastic offer of a weekend get away in the Laurentians Québec bla bla bla
I told her I wasn't intersted, then she asked me why.
I replied "because. - and I don't know where you got my number from but please do not call here again". She never said another word and hung up.- Call type: Unwanted
- sara replies to lukei got that weekend getaway call too. I think it probably is a scam.
- Mrs MI just got a call from this number as well, it was some resort and spa in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, she asked if we were between 26 and 49 and I said one of us is, she said is your combined income 50'000-90'000 dollars per year. I said no. And she said well then you don't qualify.
How the hell would want their stupid 79 dollar 3 day getaway and where do they get your number from? They knew my husband's name and our address.- Caller: resort and spa in laurentians

- mel| 1 replyI have been getting calls from this number lately. The line is open but nobody speaks and after about 8 seconds, the line hangs up/is cut off. Thanks for your feedback. I will not be picking up any longer.
- JMThis number was on my phone today, I thought it was from somewhere else so I called it back, straight to a voicemail for "getaway weekend"

- EgidioWhen I told her I wasn't interested, she also asked me why, and I said: "... because I'm mentally ill ..."
That shut her up. It threw her right off. I had to say: "Hello, are you still there?" She nervously responded and then said she'd call back later and hung up.
I never heard from her again. - Daisy| 1 replyHi, I just got this call tonight. Actually, they have been calling and calling and finally answered. I knew right away it had to be a scam as she did not say where she was calling from and said I filled out a ballot. I know what I enter into and she could not tell me where this ballot was filled out. Not sure how she got our number and even knew my address. Also, she mentioned that I would have to pay the taxes. That is weird to. I feel like calling the hotel to see if they even know this company is using their name for a scam.
- BenI get this call every single day, sometimes twice a day. I'm thinking of cancelling my phone, I'm so tired of telemarketers. I get probably 4 a day, often more then legitimate callers.

- Gilles replies to DaisyHi
I called the actual hotel in the Laurentians, actually I have been there before. It's not a scam, it is a time share that promotes 2 nights for a very low price and you have to attend a one hour presentation and they will try to sell you something. - Mario| 2 repliesAppears to be a timeshare number. I talked to someone there, who called me with the special deal. I've been through the time-share thing before, so I asked right away, "Is there a 90 minute presentation?". She paused and said that there would be a tour of the facilities on the second day.
It's not technically a scam, but very high pressure sales. It can be a good value, if you don't mind going through the high pressure sales pitch.
I've been to the ones in Florida for free. Travel is, of course, not covered in the cost.
I gave over my credit card number, and yes there were questions about our age and household income.
I'll post back with the results. BTW, the company is Geoholidays.- Caller: Geoholidays

- alanaA girl called today and asked if she was speaking with Mrs. "my boyfriend's last name". She then proceeded to say she was from some vacation thing and we'd talked the other day and I had said I was going to talk to my husband and she was calling back to see what we decided. I laughed at her and informed her I'd never received a call from them before, but very clever marketing and I wasn't interested. She said sorry and hung up right away.
- lali2005Wow, I got that girl calling me today and she asked for Mr. ... and Mrs .... and was offering vacation gateway to somewhere in Quebec...I wasn't ready to make a decision on the phone because I didn't know the place she was offering the visit to so I said I have to do my research and will call you back. But hey, I got her name, name is Jessica.

- Mario replies to MarioI received a very aggressive, even hostile contract, that is clearly a slippery-slope proposition. In refusing to sign it and get further into trouble with these guys, I lost the money to cover the weekend, around $60.
Had I signed the contract, I would have been liable for the "full cost" of this holiday, at Geoholiday's say-so, of $500, if I don't meet their list of "requirements".
Never again. - W replies to melI get the same thing!

They have resurfaced = same tactics as many of you mentioned. I answered hello and got Mrs so and so you have won.... at which point I switched into Polish, threw her for a loop- she said you DO speak English? I countered English English no speak, Polish speak yes? She hung up- have not had a return call since.
Word to the wise... some of you actually gave dangerous info like household income, credit card confirmation etc. Please Never Ever admit/confirm info. You might become the victim of identity theft. If anyone asks such things, even if they say they are from your bank or credit card company do not confirm anything or give info. If I feel like allowing them to go on for a bit (because I'm bored during a commercial) I counter with - if you are really the bank/ credit card company etc You have that info Already. They are fishing for facts- hang up on them.- Caller: "free" vacation marketing type
