This was from a company offering 'website analysis' (most likely SEO, as we own an online business)

I own an online business aswell.  They called me twice within a few minutes.

Called 3 times within 10 minute time frame and left no messages.  I do have a  website.  I work for a company that hosts websites and we get calls from customers all the time reporting the same thing.  Definitely Internet Advancements or Mobile Penguins trying to offer SEO services and promises that they can't keep with everyone.

Only 10 sites at a time will be displayed on the first page of search engine results.  They will promise to get you on the first page of the search engines, but I don't think they should be making that promise to more than 10 site owners.

I keep getting calls from this number. I just published a website. They call every few minutes, no message. If they offer Internet Optimization there is only one way to do it. Yourself taking a lot of work over a long period of time. I called the number and told them to put me on the DO NOT CALL List. They have to do this according to law. Hopefully this settles these annoying calls once and for all.

DO NOT allot this company to talk you into anything. . .if you do happen to answer the phone.  They are a complete FRAUD!!!  They take your money, and you never hear from them again.  It happened to me, and soooooo many others.  We are all forming a class action lawsuit against this company, in search of justice!!!

Please. . .I beg anyone getting these calls. . .SIMPLY do not let them into your life. . .it will be the worst thing you ever do. . .and from that point on, they will make your life miserable.  Not worth it!

All your sites will do fine with the companys you are with.

Thanks for the info. I have already been taken by SMC Merchandise. Tom Bosley (Happy Days Dad) did a good job screwing me out my money out of the bank. 30 days to review the membership package...Yeah right, took 314.95 out of my account by the time I hung up the phone. Then calls from website people who tell you to ditch them and pay them to make you rich...I will stay rich if I dont talk to these people. Is anyone honest in this world anymore?

They call every day three times within 10 minutes. I called the number just to see who would answer and the guy said "Web Marketing Source." I said "Sorry, I dialed the wrong number." He said "Are you sure?" Freaked me out and I quickly hung up. Not surprised to hear that they're a scam. Guess I'll have to contact the DMA since I'm on the "Do Not Call" list.

I have an online store, and they bother me every now and again. I just don't answer calls from 800 or 866 numbers. The one time I did answer, they were trying to tell me that my SEO was all wrong and I was losing money because of it and they could fix it for me. Yeah, okay, whatever. If they call you, absolutely don't talk to them. I don't have any personal experience with whether or not they are a scam company, but I can tell you for sure they don't know squat about website SEO.

This number is a company called Captures.  I called them back and asked who they were and what they do.  They said their company is called Captures (www.captures.com), and asked if someone had called about my website.

This co continues to call me every month or so. I have an online business and operate a cell phone. Unfortunately, cell companies will not block numbers. :( I want them to leave me alone! Thanks for all the stories. I will definately stay away. I have been taken by a website company before. I agree with Ron - it takes a long time and lots of patience, but you are better off doing it yourself. I just bought SEO for Dummies. So far it's pretty good! We'll see...

A Don D. called and spoke to me for an hour yesterday. I was asking alot of questions for him to substantiate his company's reputaiton and he insulted me several times, saying I was being negative, that he didn't need to prove anything to me, htat I'm my own worst enemy, that he's never had a client like me in his life that was so suspicious, that I didn't know what I was reading (on the site he was showing me), we have the service you need and we don't need to prove everything. I ended up hanging up and today he called back 3 times, under another number:425-250-0979. THey are using their shopping cart referral from Google and proof that they are endorsed my Google, but because of their aggressive marketing techniques, Ichoose to stay away, especially after hearing about them from others.

Called me today. I missed it and *69'd them. Put it through Google and got this site #1. Thanks for putting out the word.
