Same as tobie, we received a card in the mail asking for us to call, stating that "Barbara" was trying to reach us.

This is very sneaky, sneaky.

Received recipe card in the mail from "Barbara" just like the others...

card states the number 296-330 at the top right hand corner

Please call me. I'm trying to reach you.

They have my address, but the name on the card and envelope isnt anyone that lives here...

I received a piece of paper and asked us to call barbara too

Man calling can barely speak English asking for persons I tell him i dnt know who and I ask what it is regarding he states it is confidential and tells to tell person he is asking for to call him , i tell him again i dnt know who it is aND IF i DID i WOULD NEVER DISCLOSE INFO OVER THE PHONE HE SAID WELL I WILL NOT TELL YOU UNLESS YOU HAVE A SIGNED DOCUMENT FOR ME TO SEE,(WHAT OVER THE PHONE??)he tells me time is of the essence and hangs up!

These people keep calling and when I pick up it say one minute will put you to some one then your on hold and then it repeats it self again ......what is this crap for ?

Having the same problem right now

So, I just got a call from this number, and like the others, I was promptly put on hold waiting for a "representative" to talk to me...The recorded message then went to repeat itself, so I hung up. Does anybody know what this is? My number is unlisted, so this is very puzzling.

It's a collection agency

this company is NCN collection agency. Don't even call them back they are a scam.

I almost returned the call. All I heard was Ministry....
Seriously annoying!!!

Received a call from this number with a recorded message stating "Ministry of Finance pleasr call us back at this number to speak with one of our agents". They did not state who the message was for. I never assume these type of calls are legit. If a Government Department calls they will ask for the person they want to speak to and do not leave generic messages.

I get a call every day they say it is ELS and that I should call them regarding a serious matter with the ministry of finance.they never ask to speak to a particular person.they just leave that 866 number.

My grandparents, of whom I am staying with, are getting calls with the exact same automated message twice daily. No name, no information other than  the number ( 1 866 8849 9653 ) to call.
They have no debt (savings, actually.), and have no idea what they could be calling for.
Now to get them to stop calling here twice daily.

got a message from this number. they state is ministry of finance. i get my income tax so i know i dont owe to the ministry of finance. besides if i did, they would send notification

Is there any way to block these calls (a form of harassment).  Evidently, the "Do Not Call" list isn't working.

Just had the same call from this number, also implying it was from the Ministry of Finance, for someone with the same last name, but wrong first name. Called it back, but it went to voice mail. Apparently it's a scam.

Harassing call

They called and told me I owed someone some money I asked who they were calling for and the person does not live at the number called I don't know the person they called for.

They said I was the person and screamed and shouted at me.

When they were done I Call traced be using 1157 or *57 and contacted the police. Do this after they hang up on you.

Put these peolpe out of business.

This number IS a collection agency working on behalf of MINISTRY OF FINANCE.  I deal with a woman named Jennifer who is very nice and understanding. They are collecting debts owed on behalf of MOF such as Student Loans, OSAP, Taxes, etc)
