hangs up on me or dial tone

I get calls several times per day from 866 851-2435.  They use auomatic dial and half the time there is no one there.  The few times there has been someone, it has been some scam chaity like "state troopers association" or some kids charity.  I have repeatedly told them to take my name off the list and they never do.  I called the phone compay to have the number blocked and they said they couldn't block it because it was some non profit which was exempt.  I wuld like to have the attorney general talk to the phone company and have them reverse this ruling.  Several "scam" organizations take turns using this number.

We also get calls from this number several times a day and about ten times this week.  I decided to type it in on the internet to try to find out about it's origin and I found this site.  No one responds on the other end when the phone is answered and this is very stressful.  Yes, sometime there is a person on the other end asking for funds for the State Trooper Association or the Fire Department and the very last time it was for the Cancer Association.  When we advised them that my mother and father were cancer survivors and my mother just got out of the hospital, they rudely slammed the phone down.  We are not in the Texas area, we are in Georgia.  We definately hope this stops soon.

Just got a call from this number also and there was no one there.  Very Annoying. I think they were calling to see if the number was good, if a person or machine answered - kinda phishing me.  I hope this doesn't start them calling me all the time.

completely silent- no one there. It's happened before.

I receive several calls a day from 866-851-2435 and when answered, there's no one there.  This is completely out of control. Please block this number and company/charity.  This is the perfert making for a class action law suit.

These people call at night and there is usually no one there.  This time they ask for my husband and then hung up before he could answer the phone.

This is getting real annoying. We get this call every day 2 and 3 times a day. There has got to be something you can do about this.

I have received several phone calls in the last week. Same number, same scenerio.  Most of the time, they are talking with each other when the answering machine picks up.  Never leaves a message.  Answered today at 1700 hrs, no one there.  I waited for them to answer, but after waiting 2 minutes, I received a dial tone.  The last time the Texas State Troopers assocation called me, they stated I told them that I would pledge, of course, I did not.  Then they hounded me for money.  I did turn them in to the Texas Attorney Generals office.  And will do so for this one if I found out who they are.

Bingo, they just phoned, it was the Childrens' Cancer Dream Network.  I have asked them to take me off of their calling list.  She (Sandra) noted that there were several Fundraisers for different groups that use the same number. Said that I had been making a donation of $47.00 per year and could I be counted on for that this year.  Well we do not donate to any other Cancer association other than the Amercian Cancer Society.  My mother passed away of ovarian cancer three years ago, so I let them know this.  Must have made them feel guilty!!  Anyway, I will keep everyone posted if the phone calls continue.

These people at this number are out of control! They call at least 10 times a week and sometimes they call several times a day. The first time I talked to them I asked them politely if they could take me off the list and they hung up on me. I talked to them again just a few minutes ago. When they asked for me I said "yes, who is this?" and they hung up on me! UGH! If they are excempt from being blocked by your phone company couldn't there be some type of stalker law for this? I definately feel violated by these people.

866-851-2435: calls 3+ x per evening, usually w/ no one on other end if we pick up. last night I said "please take us off your call list" and someone came on ready to argue w/ me that I did not even know who was calling.  Enough already!

I get 4 - 5 calls a day from 866-851-2435 and when I answer there is no one on the other end.  how do I stop this. been going on for weeks.

Same goes for me. They call and no one is there. It is annoying. I finally told them not to call me. I hope they take the hint.

I know vicki, she is my girlfrined and she is not happy, so I am not happy.  If anyone finds out how to stop this, please let me know.

I am getting these calls like 3-5 times a day. No one is ever there and they are really pissing me off.

Me too!!!  I'm so mad I could spit!!!  They call at all hours of the day and even call up to 9:30PM!!!  I have 2 little ones that are trying to sleep then.  GRRRR!!!!  I'm going to forward this on to our state attorney general...maybe he'll have some answers.

I actually kept getting a blank message on my machine from this number, and when I finally managed to be home when they called, I did have to wait a few moments to be connected to someone.  I use an auto-dialer at my job too, so I know that they sometimes take a few seconds to be connected.  But my ptoblem with this company, whoever they are, is that they said they were taking donations for a cancer group, just as they told you.  Now, I only have one cancer survivor in my family, but hers was a benign tumor, and I'm not about to compare notes with them.  What I did find interesting was their pitch line: "We're calling to get another donation from you."  Another?  I don't know who you are and I've *never* given you money.  "It would have been moore than a year ago."  No kidding, that was her response.  More than a year ago... Well, like most people in the US of A, I know whom I've donated to because I file taxes, and stuff like that?  Tax deductible.  When you won't tell me your company name, and you won't tell me the last time you *say* I gave you money, do you really expect me to listen to you?
