"Junk Debt Buyers" are collection agencies that purchase old charged-off bad debt from creditors who have already written off the debt as uncollectable! These outfits, known as "junk debt buyers" (JDBs), or zombie debt collectors, are working for themselves due to the fact that they now "own" the debt.  In most cases, they are simply counting on filing a lawsuit against you in hopes that you won't fight it so they can obtain a default judgement against you and then easily garnish your wages, etc.  DO NOT LET THEM DO THIS!  "Contingency" collection agencies work as agents for another company to collect a debt. This unscrupulous company is illegally using credit information to harass and scare innocent people. They called one of my former co-workers at home and left a message. NEVER return these calls. NEVER refer them to others. NEVER answer these calls if you see this as a caller ID.

They are trying get the money for themselves, not the original creditor.

These people called my entire family in a 3 week period!!!They said enough to scare my father into thinking I was in trouble with the law...so he would give them my number...thank god he called me first to ask if it was real......the # I was given was a Miss Sawyer at 866-433-7026. This man called and ask for my checking account info. When I refused he became angry and threaten me with the IRS and a judgement against me. They pulled my credit today but the credit card they claimed I owed wasn't even on my report. Please lets all work together and get them in trouble, because this really upset me, I'am in the middle of trying to buy a home and sure didn't need this.

You got that right! I had my first contact with them today and it wasn't pleasant. However, they don't scare me and I fired back three previous DV letters from other junk debt buyers that never could validate the debt. I will see what happens and I am not afraid to have my day in court. You are correct - stay away from the a**holes.

I worked for this company in the fall of 2008.  First off, there is nothing fraudulent about this company, BUT..... the tactics they use are illegal too.  They are licensed to do what they do, so it's not illegal, it's just what they say, and DON'T do that makes it against the law.  According to the law, if they threaten to turn you over to the IRS and have the IRS file a 1099 against you, then they HAVE to follow through with that threat, and actually DO IT. They have NEVER filed anything with the IRS, and they never will either.  All the threats they make against you are nothing more than rhetoric.  They have no intentions of filing anything against you, despite what they SAY they will do.  If you tell the caller that you do not want to be called again, then they will delete your name from thier files, and mark it 'refused'...end of the calls.  Don't be intimidated by them, because there is absolutely NO THREAT that they will EVER follow up on.  They simply go to the next name on the list.  They DO lie, and they are pirhannas.  I've seen them take money from 94 year-old senior citizens who had NO idea what they were doing.  It's disgusting and sickening, and that's why I left.  Thier records are old and outdated too, and most people don't owe anything anymore.  They also have an office located in Greenville, SC.  Most of the names on the list are ficticious names they make up, because they are to embarassed for anyone to know what they do for a living.  In summary.....never give them one cent, tell them you REFUSE to pay anything, and they have to end any further communication...period.  They have, and ARE, being sued by consumers now, and most likely this company will be out of business within 6 months.  Still, they have gotten rich doing these dispicable acts of terrorism.  Most of the people working there couldn't find employment anywhere else, and once they do....they leave.

I WAS CALLED BY "CONRAD GRAY" WHO TREATED ME LIKE A CRIMINAL AND I WENT TO MY COMPUTER, PULLED UP INFO ON CONSUMER RECOVERY ASSOCIATES, AND FIRED BACK AT HIM, WHICH TO MY SUPRISE "SHUT HIM UP"  THANKS TO ALL THE COMPUTER INFO POSTED ON THESE "SCUMBAGS" I WAS ABLE TO TELL HIM WHERE HE WAS, THE OTHER "NAMES" OF HIS ASSOCIATES, AND SEVERAL OTHER BITS OF INFO ON HIS COMPANY. I ALSO TOLD HIM I WAS REPORTING HIM TO THE VA. ATTY. GENERAL'S OFFICE.  NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAD THE HAMMER ON HIM AND DEFLATED HIM IMMEDIATELY.  HE FIRST WANTED MY SSN, DL#, OTHER PHONE #S AND INFO. LIKE I WAS GOING TO GIVE HIM THAT INFO........HA HA HA HA HA HA.......: )
