on my visa bill, this number shows up next to a purchase that i definitely don't remember making, under the description "la touraine"

i never got a call, but on my bank account i have the same thing la touraine and a 25 dollar charge, what is this?

I never got a call, just a charge on my credit card.  This is a website managing company...my bogus charge is for an x rated online subscription...CALL AND CANCEL YOUR CARD!!....The company tried telling me that someone had to physically have my card to make a purchase, but she could not verify any of my information other than my city, state and zip.  Furthermore, someone created an email account with my name.  The charges are supposed to be returned to my card, but we'll see if that actually happens.

How can I cancel my trial membership, because they charged my credit card with USD 24,95.
Please let me know which company I have to send an e-mail in order to cancel.

Call your CC company ASAP  they will tell you what to do. This is a online charge and is not with valid signature-- easier to reverse.. My visa was charged and  charges were  reversed. They tried charging again in may but it was also reversed by my CC company.  I also called these frauds. I took their phone option  which was place a order..  I ask what I was paying for and it was a porn website membership I told them to take me off now!! They also do not have you listed by your name, your account number is your CC number. I flipped on them I ask who owned it and was told they were a 3rd party website customer service. They are located in CA. I ask where they were located they said San Carlito CA.? I do not know where or how they got my info I charge rarely anywhere including online just select trusted places including cash machines? Which is rare for me to use those..??

Same here, As I said call your CC company... I was told by my bank these are easy to reverse because they are not signed for with a actual card online charges have no sigs.. My bank had me write a letter telling them these were fraud, and I disputed these charges.. I also sent a copy of my bill with this charge highlighted..
Oh I am not canceling my card, I will see them in prison first!!

i received the same thing on my credit card a few times and reported the fraud charge to my credit card company.  I called the tel # and they sell memberships to 'adult websites'. Someone definitley stole my credit card #.

Just to report this 'La Touraine' caller. I've had charges of roughly £12-15 to my debit card since february '08, and passed it off as an internet purchase once or twice, but when it happened monthly i became suspicious. I reported it to my bank in september, had my card cancelled, and reported it as possible fraud. However the la touraine charge appeared on my next statement even though i'd had my card cancelled. So, i'm going to call my credit card company tomorrow to stop these fraudsters.
Thank god some others are having the same problem, i've only just found this webpage now!

I am having exactly the same issue with my Lloyds TSB account.  I called them and they told me they could not stop LaTouraine debiting my VISA debit card each month and that i have to cancel it with the componay, so how do i stop them?

I am worried that by cancelling my card they will just somehow keep taking the money from the new one - is this possible?

Had three charges from "LATOURAINE" now.

- $1.25 (£0.78) refunded immediately by my credit card provider because it was < £8
- $24.95 (£15.91) refunded after a 30-day merchant refund request requiring a written statement from me.
- $24.95 (£16.14) still in dispute

My credit card company has said that re-issuing the card will not cause this to stop and will just need refunding each time. I understand that this case is ongoing and, each time I see another charge in my statement I just call them to get it added to the case.

I was advised that, eventually, the merchant's bank will realise and stop taking payments for this client. Believe this at your own peril.

I fear I've been one of the lucky ones in having this happen to my credit card. Had it happened to my debit card I don't think my bank would be so happy to credit these charges.

Any idea how I can go ahead with some action against this merchant? My credit card provider is reluctant to provide merchant details, are they obliged to in any way?

I've also been getting these charges on my debit card, if I could ask the rest of you which website was it that they said they were charging for or is it a variety of sites amongst the masses, thank you in advance for your responses

This company is not LATOURAINE it is Netbilling. LATOURAINE owns adult website NaughtyAmerica.com and lists this number as their number despite Netbilling claiming not to have a relationship with LATOURAINE.

$24.95 is the monthly fee for NaughtyAmerica.com .

Check you Bank Statement for the following:  Was it a Visa Check card or Visa Charge card?  Was there a reference number at the bottom that started with 246xxx OR a reference very similar to ones legitimately made to other "local" merchants?

I had charge show up on my "Business" Visa Check card from LATOURAINE; however have never gone anywhere and used this card on the WEB.

I have used the card at a couple of local merchants where they swipe the card and I signed the bill but the reference number there starts with 0246xxx.  A couple of months ago I had similar issue with VISA Charge Card after using it at a Holiday Inn Express.

There may be a difference when the charge shows as Visa Check Card vs ATM POS charge.  I am wondering IF VISA has a security breach in the chain between small local merchants and their processing centers.
